Looks Good Enough for My Intended Purposes
Miltec M-65 FlectarnConcern had by so many, Fit.I purchased the Miltec mediumThe basics. I’m 5’10” 160 pounds. 39.5 chest, waist 34-35. So many of the questions associated with this class jacket is what size should I get? I purchased the medium and it is perfect. It’s form fitting enough, with liner, to provide protection with a light fleece pullover, and loose enough to accommodate down vest. I used couple of barrel cord locks (3rd picture) on the waist cord cinch the jacket snug enough to keep heat in and not allow a draft up ones back. The coats collar, once locked in up position with Velcro tabs, gives the neck plenty of protection, and could easily accommodate a neck gaiter. The sleeves are plenty long, and secure fairly well at wrists with Velcro tabs. The arms do get a bit snug, depending on how much you layer. Zipper is metal, but i think it’s coated, not brass. And yes, the zipper is on the opposite side, but our opposable thumbs allow us to adapt. Outer fabric looks to be 75% polyester 25% cotton, looks to be fairly rugged, but any use around fire might be sketchy. The liner is thin, but does hold in heat.Patch pockets (tops bellowed on outside) are OK, but not a particularly strong point. Metal snaps, so far so good. I don’t know if I will ever use the hood, but I’ve learned never to say never.Flectarn camouflage, unique as I see none up here, is overall on the darker side. Perhaps OD would be less “controversial, but OD is just that, drab. The jacket will be a general purpose/ out with the dogs jacket.Delivery was sooner than expected.I live in northeastern Minnesota very close to the Canadian border. I purchased this particular jacket for the collar seasons of Spring and Autumn. Won’t need it in the Summer, and in the winter, it just won’t be sufficient for warmth (at least for me). So, my target temperature span will be 30’s to probably mid teens.Been wearing jacket through January. With deep cold weather all but absent this year, the jacket has been fine in zero to negative single digits ( Fahrenheit) with a down vest. Just returned from 1.5 hour dog walk at 0° with -10° to -15° windchill. I can add, now I’ve been out in weather as cold as -33°F with windchill > -50°F, and coat was able to handle it with multiple layers and a down vest, neck gaiter and very warm head wear. On longer dog walks with single digit below zero F and down vest, I get too warm, in particular in sunshine. That pretty much handles it, except for the zipper pull. It will fail, so either have on hand, or manufacture another one.Hope this helps anyone interested in this particular jacket and manufacturer.

Satisfied - Great Jacket!
Pros:Material is very sturdyWater resistantVery warm (even without the liner, it will keep you warm in 50-60(F) degree weather)Lots of pocketsVery adjustable (Velcro collar adjustment, elastic strings for around the waist, etc)Cool patternHood hidden in collarCons: The sewing seems very poorly done for what it is. Not only are the threads still sticking out all over the thing (that are easily pulled to undo the stitching), but the Velcro patches are starting to come off, after maybe 12 days of light use. I expect more sturdiness from an outdoor jacket like this. One year later edit: Still holding up great! One of my favorite jackets to wear now. Kept me warm throughout the winter and is now my go to shooting jacket. And my problems with the stitching seems to have been unfounded. Will, yes, it does look bad, and while it did the patches did start to unravel, It hasn't unraveled anymore since I took those pictures. Still, it unraveled to begin with, So I'll keep my review at 4 stars. But I still Highly recommended,

Well constructed, very warm
I purchased this as a Fall coat in Minnesota. However it quickly became my favorite winter coat. Has done well in -20 F weather. Surprisingly warm. The only minor negative is that it has a European zipper (left side) (it does come from Europe...)

Nice M65 German jacket
Nice German version of the classic M65 field jacket. Very well manufactured and includes the cold weather liner which other manufacturers sell separtely. I usaully wear medium size but bought this one in small size and fits just fine. However if you plan on wearing several layers of clothing underneath, you should probably consider medium size.

Hard-Wearing General Use Canvas Coat
$80 for a coat like this is inexpensive.Pluses: heavy, tough canvas material. German-made without any made-on-China tags. Has a removable quilted, synthetic liner for adapting coat to temps. Liner is soft and warm. Liner buttons into coat at 10 spots via plastic buttons. Hood is stashable into the coat.Minuses: liner does not provide throat and neck coverage so strong winds will penetrate and cool your neck. Collar does not have a button so does not feel sturdy enough to protect your neck from gusts either. You'll have to wear a sweater with a long neck piece. 4 front external pockets are too small when compared for other german coats or even to m-65 coat. Too short for my taste: bought an M size.Overall: good item. Be familiar with minuses before you buy. Knowing what to expect won't expose you to cold and wind. Still, such an item if found elsewhere will be at least 100 usd.

If you looking for a good warm hunting jacket this is it
If you looking for a good warm hunting jacket this is it. Made in Germany high quality. I'm 6'2" , 190 lbs athletic build I bought a large and it fits great. The sleeves could be an inch longer, but they have a fold out flap that allows the side and top of your arm to be fully covered. Awesome coat, would defiantly buy another. Good Job mil-tec

M65 style, NOT an actual M65 field jacket.
M65 style, NOT an actual M65 field jacket. Much thinner than the real M65. Liner is paper thin but seems as though a regular M65 liner should fit no problem. I have had a Marine Corp issue M65 for well over 20 years and I can tell without a doubt this replacement imitation will undoubtedly NOT last nearly that long. Don't be a tool like me and pay $85 for cheapness simply because it's flecktarn camo.

Mil-tec Flecktarn

Taille parfaitement, solide, tient bien chaud
