Fractured Fairy Tales for Student Actors: A Collection of Contemporary Fairy Tale Scenes

I am a drama teacher at an elementary school, I was looking for short plays to use with students who had not done plays before, this fit the bill! The kids love them! They are funny and delightful!

I was looking for a theme and ideas for our annual Rotary Show. This certainly met that need - in fact I will donate the book to our local high school for their drama department following our show. The scripts, characters, props, and dialogue are all there - all you need to do is add your own flair and execute.

These fairy tales are silly and fun for all young actors. The length is perfect, too - whether for developing skills in a Drama Club or for presentation - they are a great resource.

It's ok

These are mainly nursery rhymes, not fairy tales. There are a couple of fractured fairy tales, but won't be as useful because they aren't all fairy tales--book should say that it is mainly nursery rhymes.

Oh, dear, I am sorry I believed the five-star review. These are so badly done, so silly. I am trying to find something light to do with senior citizens at Osher Lifelong Learning and thought fairy tales might be fun. I had thought maybe they were satires. Maybe the author wanted them to be, but they just aren't. Don't waste your money.

Perfect for an acting camp I ran, the kids, ages 8-12, memorized this skits in two days because they loved them so much!

So much fun. Useful also as a creative writing starter.

The book has a lot less than I thought it would. There are definitely some good starting points and ideas, I guess I just thought there would be more to it..
