Yamaha YDP142R Arius Series Traditional Console Digital Piano with Bench, Rosewood (OLD MODEL)

Very nice for a practice piano, but if you're used to a real piano then it's a little disappointing in both feel and sound quality. However, it works well enough to just practise and play around on!

I am SO HAPPY with my new piano!! I have been wanting a quality digital piano for years and after doing a good bit of research decided to purchase this YDP142. I have been playing it nonstop since I got it. Everything from the sound to the feel of the keys is above and beyond what I expected. A digital piano that sounds and operates like this one would cost twice as much. I feel that I can be very expressive and get lost in the moment. Assembly was very easy and was done in about a half hour, the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I have played everything from Steinways to Baldwins to Yamaha acoustic pianos. Obviously, nothing is like a grand piano, but this digital piano that costs 1/40 of the price will get you 95% of the way there. You will not be disappointed! Again, I can't tell you how wonderful it is to have this guy in my rec room and to sink into the sound and feel of this excellent digital piano.

Reasons to buy this digital piano:- if you are not learning to play classical piano, but use it for other purposes: accompanying self, composing, ear training, voice lessons, even probably jazz. Also a plus is being able to play at all hours and not annoying the neighbors.Cons: - it does not feel similar to an acoustic piano- it has that dreaded click and although it is 'digitally weighted keys' they are not weighted at all to the touch only afterwards.. I have an acoustic piano, but it needs frequent tuning and I like to play in the nights- I thought it can supplement, but this instrument is not the one I needed... It was a big mistake- first buying such a big purchase on amazon- never again! The pedal plug does not work, now I need to get a part, I wish I could send it back but it is too big,and sending it back will probably cost me an arm and a leg.I really needed to buy it from a regular store....

Wife wanted to take piano lessons. This thing is awesome. Slapped it together in the garage and brought it upstairs. She practices all the time. Best part is...it has a headphone jack. So I don't have to hear the scales over and over!

This piano has such a sweet sound, and it feels like a real piano, something I was concerned about earlier. It wasn't very hard to put together, and although two black keys weren't working when I got it, the seller told me to wiggle them, that they were just "out of their sockets," and they snapped into place. I love playing it and couldn't be happier.

Each piano that same was damaged. And we received 3!

I was a nervous wreck ordering a huge expensive item through the mail, but I have never been more pleased! It was simple to put together and it is just beautiful! It sounds just as beautiful as well. We couldn't be more pleased with this piano.

I have a small house with five kids and would love to have a real piano this is the next best thing sounds is wonderful and is nice enough piece of furniture to place in the living room
