GlobalDoor Controls Commercial Door Closer in Aluminum Finish , with Backcheck - Size 4 , small - TC2204-BC-AL

The front door on my retail shop was not closing / staying closed properly. I called a local repair company to take a look at it and was given a quote of $200+ to fix the door. They came out the next day and replaced the pivots... which did nothing for the way the door closed. The repair guy told me the closer needed to be replaced and the door itself was warped. A quote came back of $1500 for a new door minus cost of what they did that day. They did NOT get approved for that, nor did I pay them for not fixing my door since I pointed out to the guy that the quote I was given was to FIX the door and it was not fixed. I saw this here, and after it arrived, I had it installed within 30 minutes myself and the door closes and stays closed better than when the "repair" guys came out. This product is excellent for the price and relatively easy to install. The one minor complaint that I have is that the metal screws provided are not self-tapping screws. I had to work on the pilot holes a little more than I really wanted to in order to get the screws to go in.

no issues, works fine. Up until now 2 months later, total failure. Leaked hydraulic fluid. As of 2/15/2017 no longer works!

I bought several of these, and for the most part, am very happy with them. They are sleek and modern in appearance, and work well under normal conditions. While I wish they were actually adjustable,l can have that feature when I decide to pay a little more for them. They are also pretty tough. A few days ago we had a windstorm with gusts over 70 mph. One such gust sucked open a store door in my professional office building, then caught the door, slamming the door wide open, shattering the laminated safety glass in the process. It ripped the door closer right out of its moorings and twisted it up like a pretzel. We straightened it out, managed to remount it with sturdier hardware, and it still works fine! Sleek, modern, very functional, and tough. I will be ordering more of them.

This is simply the number 1 door closer/stopper in the universe. The price of under $40 is unbeatable, and I'm almost tempted to buy tons of these for all of my doors. It closes gently, and has three settings for speed at start, middle, and end - so you can control it to stay open longer for folks to enter, and slam shut to ensure door closure at the very very very end - once the people have already entered.Also it will last you a lifetime - very strong and secure for almost any door.Best out there, stop searching and purchase if you need a self closing door that won't kick you in the a$$

It started leaking the oil inside after three months then totally broke after 6 months.

Didn't think I was gonna' find this on Amazon. Easy install, used existing parts which worked flawlessly despite not being same brand. Still got to make some adjustments because door is now pretty hard to open, small children and weak elders cannot open easily, which is cool because they don't belong in my garage or near my beer fridge.

I bought this for the back door of our house because my wife cant seem to remember to close the door on her way out. It doesn't matter if its freezing out and the heat is on or if our two dogs get out she leaves it open! Not anymore! She asked why we needed it...I said, um..its just easier to go in and out of the house honey:) It also has a bonus feature of making the back door an anti slamming door!.Great product.

Replaced a closer which had worked well for 17 years. This installed and apeared exactly as the old one. After about three weeks it began to close hard and leaking oil out of the botom. Made a mess on the floor.THERE IS NO WAY TO CONTACT THIS VENDOR THROUGH AMAZON??? Made the mistake of not reading reviews as I was under the impresion that this was the same product that had lasted 17 years, obviously not.

This is a great door closer for the money. I recently ordered and installed 13 of these units and while I was able to do so with the hardware included, most did not come with the caps to be popped onto the bottom, and some were missing washers.

Well built item, solid hardware. Listed as level 4 tension- no scale to identify what this actually means in the real world; it means that the opening action/resistance is much harder than average. I'm 6'4", 210lbs, opening door requires a substantial pull or push...not for seniors or children, they won't be able to move it.

We purchased two -- they look nice and installed and worked fine, but after just six months one started dripping oil everywhere (first noticed it on my shirt before I saw it on the ground) and stopped working. I took the bushing out at our shop and the thread was stripped and the gasket had split. It appears to me that the bushing was factory overtightened, which, if its the case, doesn't bode well for their other products.
