Hermoso libro para darse un paseo por las principales obras de la literatura hindú.Aunque las traducciones varían mucho de autor en autor, creo que Zaehner hizo un buen trabajo.

The book is physically beautiful (as every Everymans book), and the translation is good, but it omits chapters from Upanisads and has no comments on the texts, thing that I find essential in this kind of texts which are difficult to understand without some help.

I was super disappointed when I received this text. As a practicing Hindu, I was excited to read the full translations. Instead, the racist introduction compared sacred rituals with dry bones clanging about, stating that he did not hesitate to omit them from the translation. He goes on to describe his reverence for certain parts of eastern teachings, with a superiority complex akin to what I imagine most colonizers carried. This is not a book I would recommend - I returned it & m seeking more accurate source translations without such frequent , shameless omission of rituals and more.
