It Is What It Is
I was looking to buy large numbers of cold weather socks for this Winter since last Winter(2017-2018) was relatively cold in the Northeast and my feet/legs were frequently freezing because my usual socks(made by the usual designer brands) were inadequate to face the cold, especially when working night shifts. I have many Carhartt hats for Winter so it seemed logical to try their socks.Key points(both good and bad) for these Carhartt Cold Weather A118 socks:+ 4 pairs of socks in the package, some other products(socks) are sold as only 1 pair at this price.+ Their design seems to be built for doing work not just sitting around, which is what I needed(Carhartt's other single pack "Merino Comfort Steel Toe" socks which I also bought do not seem designed to last working in steel toe shoes, although those contain more Wool, and are somewhat more comfortable to wear long term).+ These socks are slightly "taller" than normal crew socks but are not "mid-calf" or "over the calf", at least not for me and I am a semi-athletic guy about 5 ft. 10 in. tall with proportionally sized legs.(I also bought other "Wool" quarter and "over the calf" socks as this offers better variety for different Weather conditions and temperatures)+ The socks are cushioned inside throughout the sock and have fairly large "loops" of soft material coming in contact with my foot from the toes up to the neck/collar of the sock.+ Depending on the individual - the low wool content may be better(some are sensitive to it).- Not "All Season", these are definitely thick Cold Weather socks, if you are looking for thin wool socks then the Carhartt "All Terrain" socks will be a better fit for you - but those are more expensive and only sold in single pairs.- Outsourced, some Carhartt products are made in the US or at least in North America - these socks are not.- These socks stretch out very easily(especially on my men's median size 11 feet) and do not maintain their original smaller shape and start feeling a little loose(but that may be something you are looking for - although this may become a problem for those with smaller feet). [I wash my Wool socks in cold water and air dry them on a drying rack]- According to the list of materials, very little wool(8%) is used to make these socks but it is difficult to say just by looking at them.

Mismatched out of the box
Socks feel nice and look to be well made but seem to be paired wrong. Will be returning.

College Student
I have had these socks for the last year or so. Just like most Carhartt products I own, they are very durable. Most of the socks I own get holes in the heel almost instantly, but I have yet to get one in these. I wear them walking around campus in the winter time, plowing the driveway, or hunting. The picture I attached is both the sock inside and out. This should show you how soft the socks really are.

NOT an ALL Weather Sock, Very Bulky. HOT! Tight Tops Strangle Leg, OVERsized
1. These socks are HOT above 65 degrees. NOT al-weather as advertised. Feet will swelter in summer 70+ temps.2. Incredible bulky... the extra bulk will pressure your feet from all sides unless you already have a lot of extra room in your shoes. Takes some effort to squeeze into my work shoes.3. NOT a casual sock by any measure.4. After a couple washings the tops became so tight around my legs I had to cut the top band for relief.I do own Carhart socks & love them,...& was trying buy the same medium weight sock & the product description led me to believe that was the case. But these are VERY BULKY, HOT socks 65 degrees & up!I purchased 8 pair & Unfortunately I'm a couple days past the 30 days return period.BOTTOM LINE: Earns **2 Stars**.1. Inaccurate product description is deceptive. NOT all-season socks as advertised.2. Very HOT, BULKY, POOR sizing,...I wear size 11 shoe & my size range was way Oversized by several sizes.

Great work socks
I bought 2 packs, i read the all season portion and grabbed 2 packs.. now they say winter on the package. But if you wear them in summer its fine. I currently use them in pennsylvania summers and i feel no difference from summer socks to winter. I wear a size 12 and they fit perfect. I have larger calfs no issue. I wear size 12 carolina loggers and these go about 1 inch above my boot.. perfect. On a side note i switched from hanes to these and the boot stink from a work day is no longer there or sweaty boot feet. Highly recommend these socks. Extra thick and comfy.. and so far after 1 1/2 months of washes look new.

Wool?
These claim to be Merino wool, which might be technically enough true for Carhartt to say without being sued. However, I have NEVER had merino wool socks wear down so quickly, I have been wearing Darn Tough, Smartwool, and REI brand merino wool socks for a long time, some of them for over 7 years. They were more expensive to purchase, but I haven't had to replace them...after a year with these carhartts. I have to replace all but three of the socks (1.5 pair of socks left). DO NOT RECOMMEND

Good Socks
I bought these socks because I have had nothing but great experiences with Carhartt products and I was looking for some heavy-duty work socks to wear with my new work boots. These socks come in a nice variety of colors, but I chose green, since that's my favorite color. I'm sure the other colors would perform the same. I am on my feet on concrete for at least eight hours a day, so cushion is important. These are very thick, cushiony socks with reinforcements in all the right places, so I expect them to last a while. There is one odd quirk about them, though. Because they are "winter socks," which is not indicated on the Amazon product page, they make my feet sweat more than usual. It's late winter, here in Middle Georgia, which translates to early summer everywhere else on the planet, so it's a little warm if it's not cold. Mother Nature is rather indecisive this time of year, here. In any case, my feet sweat more than usual wearing these socks. But the oddity of it is that these socks do an outstanding job of wicking away that sweat, so I always have dry feet when I take off my socks at the end of the day. So it's not really a problem. Just a quirk I'll just have to get used to. I plan on wearing these socks on into spring and summer and year-round, because they will keep my feet dry and comfy no matter what the weather.Once again, Carhartt delivers the goods.

Brilliant product
These socks are the best for wearing with work boots. Comfortable, long enough to come over top of lRger boots and wash well. Bought them for a long time.

-15°C? Your body may freeze but your feet will stay toasty!
These are warm... I mean really warm. Walking the dog for two hours when it's -15° outside and my feet are always comfy. I don't know yet how durable they are, but if they just last be the season, I'll reorder for sure!

Comfortable and Fit Well
These were just what I was looking for. Great boot socks to pair with my ugg's. I wear an ankle sock underneath these that I find find adds some warmth and fills out my winter boots a little better.

Holy Moly! Feels like real socks!
I like these socks. They feel very nice. Worn either doubled up or singly, they are comfortable. If they show any signs of durability at all, I would like more. These are my fourth brand try out on amazon and so far, my choice for an all around sock.

Very Poor Quality although they are fairly warm
Very disappointed with theses socks, after four washes they no longer stay up, and fall down when walking, should have returned them but missed the 30 day window.
