Works good, easy Install
Replaced old one in 10 minutes. Easy install and start up. Cheaper than getting from a repair person. Was quoted 280 installed. Just hope it lasts. Samsung does not have a great track record on ice makers.

Fitment perfect, works incredibly well!
I am very satisfied with this icemaker! My original Samsung icemaker from my model RF28HMEDBSR Refrigerator seldom worked properly, then, the whole bottom blew out!I ordered this one at a fair price and shipping was quick and free through Prime.Samsung has asked for all owners that don’t have the clips on the coil to install that upgrade kit. Also, you must shine a light around the lower perimeter on the outside of the cabin,(in fridge)for the icemaker to see where refrigerator air is entering the icemaker cabin. You will see the light coming in! This is a large part of the freezing up issue.I followed a you tube video that instructed how to unplug and remove the icemaker then pull the motor unit behind icemaker,(easy), let it dry out, while you caulk all areas where light was coming in. I did that then installed upgrade clips and plastic frame that comes with kit, which was ordered separately but inexpensive. I let the RTV freeze proof 100% silicone cure overnight. The next morning, I reinstalled motor and new icemaker. It works famously! One thing to point out, do not try to pull the old icemaker out until the unit is completely defrosted as the coil from the fridge must be slightly bent down to remove old icemaker. If you puncture that, your entire fridge is toast!I highly recommend watching YouTube videos until you feel comfortable. The end result is awesome!!!I will do another review if there are any issues down the road as it’s only been in for a week now….Good Luck!

Ice Again....how cool 😎
So after trying multiple fixes, looking at every YouTube video about a Samsung fridge ice maker I could find and extensively opening up I now know more than I ever wanted to about my Samsung refrigerator. Namely to never buy one again. They do a lot of things great but appliances are not one of them. The idea of putting a ice maker inside of a refrigerator and not the freezer is already more on it but the fact that they did for years is a testament to their stubbornness. But you find yourself in my position and you need to get a fix I would try some of the videos and some of the easiest stuff first. If he still find that you're not getting nice this is a great option. As a last resort I looked up a replacement for the actual unit that makes the ice although I did think it was working. I thought what the heck I'll just return it if it doesn't work. Guess what easy switch out and voila, I have ice. It was honestly way more of an exciting moment than I should be, but after several years of ice cube tray is it makes me appreciate the things like this. I got mine for around 80 bucks and I got to say the fact that you can buy an independent countertop ice maker it's always preferable to have it built in and in your fridge fully functional. So I'm glad to pay 80 bucks to have it work as it should and not have to buy a separate unit to have on the counter.Where's the install I wish it would have done maybe a short video but honestly it's pretty easy you can find a video that shows you how to remove that part and it takes just a few minutes. That is if your ice maker is not all frozen up. That is a different story and we'll take a a little more time. But if it is then you are in luck and this will take all of maybe 5 minutes. You'll know when maybe 2 hours if it's making ice or not. I would say if you do have Frost make sure to check out how to enable Samsung's defrost feature on the fridge they do have one and it does help.

Perfect Match and Fit
Fixed my broken ice maker... Samsung has an issue with the inside of the icemaker not being insulated well so it freezes up constantly... Applied insulation tape to the inside and replaced with this ice maker and no issues since... Works perfectly

Not OEM
Buyer beware. This is NOT a Samsung OEM ice maker. The plastic is super flimsy, cheap and is opaque instead of white.. There are zero Samsung markings on this unit.Returned and tried another listing. Hopefully this one will be a OEM Samsung part!

Fits as is should
If you have a Samsung fridge with ice maker in the fridge section…you will eventually need to replace this. I installed the Y clip fix on the evaporator coil at the same time I replaced the ice maker. My ice maker part # ended in A, I was shipped out the newer D version. Simple to install. Hoping that the Y clips and the updated ice maker will make a difference on how long we go between freeze ups.

Replacement works great
Received the DA97-15217D which is a substitute for the DA97-15217A. Works very well. Hopefully lasts longer than the original (3 years).
