Crooners: Essential Collection

I bought this 3-disc set for my sister, in her 80s. She loves the music of the 40s-50s, and could no longer find any radio stations in her area playing them. This set (and others in the Essential Gold Series) features 75 songs from that era at a price of under $10 (from Amazon Marketplace). She loves this set, and others I've purchased for her. I highly recommend any Essential Gold Set. The only down side is that IN SOME CASES (since the recordings are made in Europe) the performers singing the songs may not be the versions/performers that were most popular here in the U.S.

There's not really much I can say. The performers & their recordings represent the "typical" songs I used to hear on the radio in the 1950s as a child. They all date from the 1930s-1960 (give or take).They are good solid nostalgia.The collection is worth the money I spent on them.

i bought this to go with a Victrola Nostalgic player, so instead of coming home to the TV blaring, my dad is sitting in his chair singing along to music of the 40s. Yesterday, my dad even said to my mother, “This music makes me want to get up and dance!”

Not quite the quality I expected, but still okay. I enjoyed it, though many of the songs are obscure, and not well known.....still enjoyable and worth what I paid for it. Unforgettable? I wouldn't go that far.

That is something that I never thought I was going to have. Excellent material and nice memories.The price was awesome and the delivery time unbelievable. IT is a good suggestion to do business with this vendor.

This is the music sung by the "crooners" I want to listen to when driving long distances. Hope they don't wear out from overuse!!Great price for great music..

This takes me back to when I was a kid listening to the radio. My parents had the control and there were no "rock" stations, anyway. My mom would sing along and sometimes we would "dance" to the music in the kitchen. Ah, youth.
