The media could not be loaded.  I've only purchased this because i was devastated when I lost my original one after TEN years! It can be a a little tricky to figure out how to use but after that, you'll never look back.The only con is for cans that you are draining the liquid out of, you can't really press the lid into the can, because the cut is on the outer rim.

I am not new to the safety can opener world, and this does not open cans as this can opener should.Since the early 2000s I have had 2 other smooth edge can openers that lasted years each. I chose this one based on reviews and it’s similarity to Pampered Chefs new model with a better price and not having to hunt down a demonstrator.I struggled to get it to work on the first few cans, kept popping off or the handle gear slips and didn’t cut - figured a learning curve... no such luck... maybe some of the cans are flawed... nope not it either... still doing it almost every time.My husband and 2 teenager also gave it a try to see if it was just me... no one can get it to work like it is supposed to.Past the return window by the time I came to the conclusion it was the can opener and not the user. Over 2 months later and I still end up with cans as pictured 9/10 times :(The cans end up less safe than using a traditional cutting can opener!I guess I will be heading to a 24 hour Super Center to find a replacement for a product I was expecting to be superior to what is stocked there.2 star Pros:It’s a very nice looking can opener.Good size for my hands.

Got this after reading a product recommendation from America's Test Kitchen (2015 edition). I was super excited to get it, since my Wal-Mart and cuisinart can openers had only lasted a few months each. I wish this one had lasted that long, it lasted a month. I felt the gears slip as I fruitlessly turned the handle over and over, apologizing to my kids who had been looking forward to their first taste of snow ice cream made with sweetened condensed milk. I guess we will have to wait another 5 years for the right snow conditions to try again, all because of a terrible can opener.

Love this opener! As I'm getting older my hands are getting a little arthritis which makes opening cans manually difficult. Especially with some of the manual can openers that's out there!! I have can dog food that I open daily so having a great opener that you don't have to even think about is wonderful. So great I was compelled to write a review. My only suggestion is to add simpler instructions. I know they're on the handle and you've done a great job on the back of the card it came on but I think since the opener is so different from what's out there, a short video would help. Took me a minute to figure out. Do yourself a favor and purchase this opener. You wont be sorry!

This works exactly as they say and I love that lid of the can comes off without any sharp edges my son can even use it. It is a little tricky to use at first but once you get the hang of it no problem. I would definitely recommend it to anybody.

I have used can openers from this company for 15 years.The ones I purchased 15 years ago are still working fine.I only ordered this one to have as a backup.Simply the best in the world.

For many years I owned a Krups manual smooth edge can opener. It recently needed to be replaced. I could not find that brand again, so I took a chance on the Kuhn Rikon. I am so glad I did! It works easier than my old one and makes a quick and easy job of opening cans. I recommend this item. I am satisfied with the entire process of ordering and getting it delivered quickly.

I am really surprised at how much I love this can opener. I purchased a different one not so long ago that already crapped out on me. I came across this one and so far it's the best can opener I've ever used. I hope it continues to hold up.

I bought this can opener to replace my pampered chef one that was finally packing it in. So far I’m quite happy with it. Hard to find a can opener that opens without leaving sharp edges, but this one does a great job! Easy to turn and doesn’t slip.

This opener is perfect for seniors with a weaker grip. It is easy to engage and very smooth turning. The lid pops off using the attached tool and leaves a smooth edge. I would buy this opener again and highly recommend it to others.
