Best winter cleat
So much better grip in the winter months with these cleats / spikes.Very sure footed in frosty / icy conditions on grass and tee mats. The spike is not the hardest of materials and wears down (should add that on my home course there is a short walk to the 1st and from the last on Tarmac)These will definitely be getting used from now on in the winter months.

Champ Pro Stinger Spikes are Champion
I have used these spikes for some time now and always have spare sets in my bag, however on purchasing a new pair of golf shoes, with normal Champ Stinger cleats, I had not been aware that these required threaded spikes and I only had fast twist. Our course is very wet and the spikes are invaluable, as a slip during your swing or on a downhill grass path can lead to a serious injury, however Stinger Pro Spikes, cut the risk of falling considerably, so they are always fitted to my shoes, summer and winter, unless the course prohibits them.

Winter necessity
At this time of year (Feb) , the spikes are essential for good grip on the icy greens, winter mats etc.

Winter Winner
An excellant set of spikes - used during a really cold spell, whilst my playing partners where slipping around on mats - I had no problems. I'm not sure the greens committee would be happy in the summer with a soft spike only rule? The metal centre spike works wonders for winter conditions.

spikes great . fitted them to the golf shoes and they worked a treat . only problem is that the shoes are old and the sole has now split (not the spikes fault )

Great spikes
I bought these pre-emptively knowing that the seasons were wearing on, and that I might soon be walking on damp muddy grass. Of course, one has to be discrete wearing these. I love and have missed the crunching sound and feel of spikes when I walk toward a teeing ground; but it's a dead giveaway that you're wearing metal, and one certainly wouldn't want to walk into a pro shop or club house with these, where not only would they trash carpet, but they're forbidden in most place. But, safety and performance being safety and performance, the soft spikes just don't compare. Solid traction, less foot movement, and safety in slippery terrain; which is what it's all about. Most budget-priced modern golf shoes have far fewer spikes and spikethreads than in the past. I was actually somewhat concerned at first, because my New Balance shoes only have two heal cleats (instead of four) and five toe cleats (instead of seven). Modern shoes get away with this because of tread in the shoe sole itself (as opposed to the classic golf shoe with smooth leather soles). I needn't have worried, the traction is still good. Although I do have concern about weight distribution when the spikes aren't dug into grass or dirt, will it trash my soles faster? Still, golf shoes are generally worn at most only once or twice a week, so I don't see this as much concern.Drive for show and putt for dough!

A great golf shoe combo spike
This spike would be illegal at many courses, but I use it on my golf shoes that I wear when cutting grass. It keeps me from losing my footing when cutting on hills when the grass is damp.
