Make Small Changes for Big Results
I had this book as a teenager and found it very effective for helping me lose weight by making small healthy, lifestyle changes. I sold it several years ago, but ended up buying a copy of it again very recently because it's still very helpful and relevant. I personally never did the walking program prior, but I think this book has a very reasonable approach to weight loss for folks who are intimidated by the gym, but want to start making healthier choices for themselves. You don't need to be a fitness model to be healthy, you can make small changes to improve your health, life and weight.

Jorge's plan works for me!
I first found Jorge Cruise in the [...] Connection magazine. I downloaded his free "Belly Fat Report" and then purchased 8 Minutes in the Morning. In the past I've tried every diet out there from Atkins to The Zone to South Beach, etc. Most of the time I would lose weight, become very frustrated with the deprivation, stop the program and gain the weight back. I never realized until I read this book as to why I was constantly craving sugar. I WAS the biggest sugar addict on the planet. I loved fruit, fruit juices, soda and every kind of sweet out there. On Jorge's plan, you pay close attention to your sugar intake (it doesn't mention this in the book but you should strive for no more than 15gm sugar/day and 6 servings of carbohydrates). Most plans lump all carbs into the same undesirable category. Anyway, I didn't find the first week to be exactly starvation, as some reviewers have pointed out, but I did get hungry a few times and chewed quite a bit of sugar-free gum! I felt great after the first week and very much looked forward to having more food starting with week 2. Bottom line: I no longer crave sugar, and I actually treated myself to a half-slice of cheesecake on my birthday. I ate 3 bites on the birthday, 3 bites the day after, and 3 bites the day after that. For me to do anything less than gobble up the entire dessert is unheard of. I am so glad that I am now in control of my eating instead of the other way around. I recently saw a youtube video of Dr. Wayne Dyer on Ellen Degeneres' talk show and he interviewed Jorge Cruise, who told him that in the 1800s people ate an average of 13gm sugar per day, and now it is 245gm/day. Dr. Dyer limited his sugar intake to about 25-30gm/day and lost 15 excess pounds in one month. This program may not work for everyone, but if you are BIG TIME addicted to sugar, I'd give it a try. I've lost 16 pounds and have quite a bit left to go, but I am very confident that I will get there because this is so easy. The daily exercises are simple and only require a set of weights.P.S. After ONE WEEK on Jorge's program my cholesterol dropped 25 points.

Great Morning Routine!
I checked out this book at the library before purchasing it. After completing the first week of exercises I decided to purchase the book. I am not following the diet portion of the book, however, I am doing the morning exercises and incorporating power walks along with calorie counting. After the first week, I lost 1.5 pounds. Here is my take-away:-The two exercises in the morning do not take 8 minutes. It takes me 15-20 minutes to do the warm-up, workout, and cool down.-Power walks are necessary. You will not burn enough calories by doing just the exercises. I have been power walking for the past month, and I feel a difference in my daily walk after doing the morning workout.I like the simplicity of the two workouts in the morning. If you set your mind on making this work, you will be able to wake up early and work this program.

Print on Demand Illustrations are Terrible!!!
This is a great book as far as content goes and I’ve used it for years but when I lost my original copy and had to replace it with this print on demand version I found the many illustrations demonstrating the workouts so faint it’s infuriating. They look like bad photocopies. The publisher should just let the book go out of print if they don’t want to invest in making decent copies of the thing anymore.

I love this book
I can't across this book over 15 yrs ago maybe at a bookstore? When I follow it, it keeps me trim and motivated. I lost the book along the way and bought it again in Amazon, to have even as a reminder. I've simplified it to only the areas I personally need, but now older, an planning on doing the full spectrum for overall health. It's true and it works. You will not be a body builder, but you will be toned and is really all most of us need it are even looking for. Love this guy and this book.

Exercise in the morning.
I have previously purchased other books by this author. I like the way he gives background and the reasons why you eat or exercise a certain way. Anyone wishing to get in better shape and or lose weight, this is a great book. Buy the Belly Fat Cure book for some really great recipes and a more detail explanation about sugar and how it creates belly fat. This is a good book as the author does not ask you to do hours of exercise. Just 8 minutes in the morning. It takes me a little longer but I am slowly cutting down my time.

This book has been on my wishlist for a while. Some useful info, and definitely ahead of it's time at the time, but dated now. All balck and white, including pics, and tons of before/after client testimonials in the book. Feels a bit OTT, like it's been written by a cheerleader. Also a lot of writing work- not a nice "read and apply" as I expected.

It works.
This is the second time I've bought this, because I lost my original in a move. This book helped me lose 40 lbs some years ago, and it's helping me lose it again. This time, I'm going to keep the weight off by sticking with the book past the time I reach my goal. It's a permanent lifestyle change.

Life Changing
I started this EASY workout and lifestyle change about two months ago. I've lost 20 pounds with minimal effort. 8 Minutes in the Morning is very motivational and easy to follow. Not a lot of equipment is necessary -- weights really are all you need. I couldn't believe it when I saw results in the first week. I would recommend this to anyone who needs to lose weight.
