Hartz Just For Cats Gator Scratch Toy Mat (color may vary), All Breed Sizes

The toy looks exactly as expected. You aren’t able to select the color and I ended up with green. It’s cute and I figured it would be something new and fun to keep my cat occupied. Well, she has been enjoying it. The only downfall is that the feathers didn’t even last 3 seconds after I handed this toy to my cat. They fell off immediately and she wanted to eat them. I’m not sure how durable the rest of the toy is and how long it will hold up, but she’s been entertained so far.Updated: after writing my original review, I’ve decided to lower the rating. My cat only was interested in this toy the first day and she only played with the ball attached to it. She hasn’t gone back to play with it since. There is also a crease from how the toy was packaged, so it doesn’t lay completely flat. I’ve tried moving the toy to different areas in hopes she may gain interest, but she’s not into it at all.

The scratcher is super cute and well made, unfortunately my cats aren't impressed. Honestly, they don't even acknowledge it. I've left it hanging in hopes one if them will warm up to it.

Our cats are a bit finicky (shocker, i know) about their toys. This toy gives a variety of things for them to be distracted by...at least for a little while.Our cats' favorite part is the crinkle bit...like thick cellophane inside, it makes a crunchy noise that they both seem to enjoy, without the mess of newspaper all over the floor (which they both also like).They enjoy the feathers on the ball. Supposedly, the ball is suffused with catnip, although i do not smell anything. Not a big deal, as i can sprinkle catnip over the entire toy if i want/need to.Both of our indoor cats' front paws are declawed, but they still enjoy rubbing on scratching posts/pads. I have not noticed that so much with this toy...although they DO enjoy making biscuits on the gator's eyeballs, for some reason.I appreciate that there is a built-in loop to hang the toy from a door handle, and that the entire toy is built to a high-quality standard.

I bought this for my kitten because she likes to scratch down words so I figured it would be great to hang it on the door because she also has interest in the door, she’s weird lol but I thought it was the purple one which matches the aesthetic in my home but it is green. We did not want green. Also I live in an area where we sometimes see gators I don’t want her to get any bright ideas so it was better if it was purple we don’t have purple gators. Anyways I may be overthinking that part but it is advertised purple so we expected to get a purple one my kitten is also a girl and she doesn’t seem to have interest in masculine colored things.

My youngest cat loves this scratcher! It's his favorite toy! We lay it in the floor and he scratches it and wrestles with it bunny kicks and all! They last us about a year this is the 3rd one we've purchased he got his first one when we got him and will definitely be purchasing again in the future! We do have to take all the strings off since one of our other cats is a string chewer but they love the ball by its self too!

My cats love this scratcher! The only thing I found was you can’t wash even on delicate, it fell apart. I should have just soaked in the sink.

Loved that this item was bigger than it looked in pictures!! Hangs perfect height from a door knob.

After the rave reviews I was so looking forward to getting this. Unfortunately the cat couldn't care less. Could be the crinkle noise inside I realise now the cat doesn't like. I'd try it again if there was a version without this. It's well made and looks great, I'll give it to another cat owner and they may have more joy.
