OMG these Viking timetravel books are STILL some of my favorite reads
Lt Torolf Magnusson has decided to go back (if he can) and put a hurtin' on old Steinolf, the bad ole viking who tortured his sister and destroyed his old home.Tor has been in the SEALS for a while and he is one of those very macho hombres, who think they are invincible. HE probably is, he sounds fine and has a heart to match. Men like that are hard to find in any century. When he tells his buddies he is going on a raid, they decide to go with him. Non believe they will be going to the thirteenth century. But that old magic works once again and history here they come. They land in Norseland at an old hunting lodge that has been turned into a sanctuary for women. Hilda is a Norse Lady whose home has been captured and destroyed by Steinolf. She and a few women made it here and have settled in. The arrival of five good looking hunks comes just as they decide they need men to have children.Tor finally convinces Hilda that he has come to defeat Steinolf. They start training the women to protect themselves and Tor finds he likes Hilda a little to much, he is in trouble whenever he gets around her.As they get ready to storm Steinolf 's keep his cousins arrive with a number of long boats and sailors. As usual the action is non-stop and the laughs are too. The actions in that time and in our time are hysterical, I laugh till I cry. Then the romance is also sweet, what more can you ask for from a book.I absolutely love these stories and she can't write them fast enough. The story of Hilda and Tor is just as good or better than any of the others. As long as she writes these stories I will buy them. Do not miss this one.

Not everything has to be fancy, sometimes a book just has to make you laugh
Is this high-quality literature? Nope. But it is a heck of a fun read and a good way to kill an afternoon. I bought this off a recommendation. I gave it to my mother to read because it made me laugh so much. We then bought a copy for my aunt for Christmas and picked up a couple other Viking books for the holiday break. If you want something easy and silly, I absolutely recommend this.

okay but not terrific
Sandra Hill is a fantastic writer with a superb sense of humor. She has created a world of Viking time travelers that has been very successful, and an immmensely relaxing read. This is not one of those fabulous books. It is okay. But, that is the problem, it is just "okay" compared to the others in the series. The plots and jokes are getting thin and repetitve. Her stories of this period were unique, now they are a little boring. What is not boring and what saves the story is her increasing amount of detail about SEAL life and the people who create the SEAL landscape are always interesting. Perhaps she should create a modern series devoted to SEALs, special forces and the like, for she brings to the public a look into their lives and training that is not genereally discussed in such novels. Her other series are also excellent, the cajuns and recently the Jinx books. If you are not acquainted with her Vikings do start with the earlier ones.

Adventure at it's finest
Talking about adventure,I love reading this author's book she never let's me down. Starts from being roudy and ruff to smooth sailing. I like the fact that the stories goes back and forth frompresent to midevil time and blends in so smoothly.

Insensitive handling of sensitive content
Early in the book, we get descriptions of why the female lead is fleeing with her small band of survivors to a run-down castle in the wilderness. This involves descriptions of the aftermath of assaults on women and children (one character is twelve years old) in wartime.I'm sure that arguments may be made about whether or not the text handles this in a sensitive and appropriate manner, and of course, mileage will vary for different readers. In my case, I did not find this book's handling of the subject appropriate. In particular, the transition in the early chapters from descriptions of multi-perpetrator assaults to the "We need men!" chants in the next section of the female protagonist's POV left me cold.

Very Interesting Come Back
I loved this book! It had adventure, sadness, happiness and Tolroft was very compationate in this story unlike the cold heartless person he seemed to be in "Hot and Heavy". Great read.I wish there was more interaction with his family who had time traveled in previous books. Maybe a family and friend of all the past viking books reuinon in an upcoming book. I would love to see how all of the past characters are doing. Maybe even travel back to the 11th century and back like this book did. I love the time travel series. Please keep them coming.

I bought this book for a friend for Christmas based on a YouTube video of a guy doing a dramatic reading of an excerpt from this book. Definitely a fun read.

Fantastic as always!! Although the outcome is always similar, the journey is exciting, enjoyable, sad in parts, and of course hilarious...yet different. Ms Hill you don't disappoint !! Don't stop, please. Need mode on these characters that we've grown go know and love S well as more on those growing up in Vikings I Series. I feel like they are part of my own family by now.

IF YOU ARE BUYING THIS BECAUSE OF A TUMBLR POST, THOSE SECTIONS WERE MADE UP. They do not appear in this book.(I bought this as a joke present after (naively i know) believing something on Tumblr. While the phrase 'dick attack' does appear, the other horrifically written 'extracts' do not.)Judging objectively, it's an OK book. Not the best romance I've read and a couple of times the consent is quite dubious. It's fairly silly, though, so if you're looking for a laugh here is a good place
