Kuala Lumpur Sketchbook

This is an old fashioned visual treat because of the quality of the illustrations. To those of us with a connection to Malaysia in general and KL in particular, it brings on a wave of nostalgia.It is not a travel guide to KL! What it does do is evoke the history and atmosphere of a city which has changed rapidly and is still changing. Fortunately, many of the types of scene shown can still be seen in the modern cluttered, traffic-clogged city that is Kuala Lumpur; its past has not been entirely obliterated.Browse through it, absorb the text and the atmosphere in the illustrations. then, oif at all possible, go there and seek out what remains of what the book shows, whilst staying in a comfortable, air-conditioned, modern hotel!

I first saw these beautiful books in Kuala Lumpur. The sketches are enchanting and I regularly enjoy flipping through the pages; evoking fond memories. Highly recommend.

Very well executed lively watercolours of many aspects of old and historic parts of Kuala Lumpur showing them against the current modern buildings. As the sketches include figures as well as landscape the atmosphere of this city is well represented.

Wonderful book, full of great paintings evoking lovely memories and produced on such lovely paper,too. The book has been admired by visitors.
