Gorgeous!
I received my American Vampire Omnibus volume 1 today, right on time. And I'm thrilled with it. I started out reading it on Kindle Unlimited, & halfway through the third volume I decided I had to have a physical copy. Although I have not yet finished it, I already know that the rest of the story is going to be the same mixture of colorful, expressive art & intriguing, edge of your seat storytelling that was in the volumes I read on Kindle. I'm about to dive in now to experience them in person & I am stoked! The book itself arrived in great shape. It was plastic wrapped & has a nice thick hardcover binding (which is great considering it is almost 1000 pages) & a dust jacket. The art on the dust jacket & the cover itself is gorgeous. I bought both volume 1 & volume 2 of the omnibus for a great price, especially considering how much it wouldve been to buy each of the individual collections. Additionally, by getting this omnibus version, I also get access to the "spin off" stories that do not appear in the regular volumes. Bottom line: great story, great art, great packaging, super quick delivery, & terrific value. Recommended for fans of graphic novels, vampires, history, & general horror. Now excuse me while I drive right in!

This comic really epitomizes "Show don't tell." Great world building. Fantastic world building. Great stories. It has action, horror, romance, intrigue. Vampires. Definitely worth owning and reading. The art is sweet. This one is a keeper.

As good as I expected
"I was eight years old the first time a saw a moving picture".As a fan of Scott Snyder's run of Batman, I had a lot of expectations with the American Vampire series. I couldn't collect the comic book series in the past and decided to wait to the omnibus edition; which I was sure will arrive sooner or later. Finally, it's in my hands! The book is very big, spectacular, more than 900 pages with extras like a collection of covers, an original script and some sketches of the characters.About the writing, I don't specially like the 1920's beggining - L.A. story, even though is one of the most recognizable parts of the series mithology, and has the implication of my beloved Stephen King; but soon the time starts passing and comes some amazing sagas where new characters, situations and events give a lot of deep and enjoyment to the story. We discovers de VMS, the past of Skinner, and we see Pearl's life go by. All of the above is great, but I don't want to stop highlighting my favorite character, Felicia book!About the artists, all of them are amazing; from the creator Rafael Alburquerque and his dinamic drawings with a marvelous narrative, to the amazing work from Sean Murphy and Dusting Nguyen before becoming the stars they currently are. One thing that I really like about the series, from a global point of view of the almost 30 first issues of this collection, is that although its artists have different drawing styles, and they change periodically, they all fit perfectly into the story told and the feeling of unity is not lost.in short, I loved American Vampire Omnibus and that I am looking forward to volume 2!

Great Story Great Art
The single issue comic is dead! Why, because at $3 or $4 each, and twenty issue stories make buying single comics is not cost effective. The omnibus is the future. Stories collected in a single issue hardback. The problem now is still cost! One hundred dollars for 40 comics sounds like a good deal when compared to single issue costs. The problem is you are still spending $100. Will comics die with this generation? How can next gen readers AKA kids afford comics? Bring on the omnibuses but please publishers figure some way to lower the price!

Did not disappoint
I've been waiting for this omnibus for years since a few of the hardcover volume were becoming impossible to acquire. I sure glad I did because it's been one of the best comic book series I've ever read. Great story and art by all artists were amazing.

Heck of a Value
I had purchased the hardcover of Vol 1 back when the comic first started out. I liked it enough, but never kept up with the series. Now I am getting a chance to revisit and pick up where I left off with this new collected works. You get the first 27 issues plus two other miniseries in a slightly oversize presentation and hardbound. Just with the main 27 issues, you are basically getting your money worth. Picking up the four trades in hardcover would cost more than this set.I am enjoying the story and the art is fine enough. There are some times when characters faces look a little wonky and certain angles make them look like a different character altogether. I am about 200 pages into this 1000 page behemoth. So far I am quite satisfiedMy only gripe is with the size of the thing. The dimensions are not THAT much bigger than the previous hardcover volumes. I think it is like a half an inch bigger for width and height. With such a thick spine, the binding would have benefited from an a bit more room. (think Absolute release of Sandman)Recommended. As of now, you can buy this set for practically 50%. Can't beat that

Solid book, great art, crazy story
Loved this book. Some of the middle mini series were a little off, but the main story and ending were excellent. I'm now reading the second cycle and looking forward to AV 1976!
