Great fridge, highly recommended!
Did not buy this from Amazon, but it is a great fridge so far. My last fridge was GE and it lasted for 8+ years with no issues. We moved and left it at our sold home still working perfectly. I replaced a French Door bottom freezer fridge in our new home with this model and it looks great and works great. I very much dislike bottom freezers due to organization issues mainly. This fridge is the same size as bottom freezer types, but it is not as deep sitting, so it looks more flush in out built in cabinets it's in. I recommend!

2 Jobs: Look Good and Keep Food Cold-DOES NEITHER
Bought this model from Home Depot about 90 days ago. GE Service has been out 4 times and replaced everything and food still spoils. Recommended setting is 0 / 37. We have it on 34 (lowest setting possible) and the Fridge side is about 7-8 degrees warmer all the time. Food spoils because the temps are at or above 41 all the time. As for the Stainless Steel; it is literally the worst in the business. If you even walk near this abysmal appliance it will scratch or show smudges and fingerprints. I literally will buy another Refrigerator and sell this at a HUGE loss on Craigslist. Run away from GE and their horrible engineering. Also, a good Tip. Buy appliances from Lowes and never from Home Depot. They won't take it back Lowes would have. I love Amazon, but probably would not buy a major appliance from them.

Three Stars
Very easily scratched.... Magnets being moved around on the fridge has caused major scratches all over the fridge! :(

Had this one for 5 years. No problems
We bought this unit to replace the old side by side LG. My salesman advised me to buy the 10 year warranty ($300) because the ice maker and water dispensers are the most common problems and usually hard parts to find. The LG was 8 years old when a 2 cent spring failed on the ice door. They couldn't fix it. The warranty got me this new GE refrigerator. My only complaint is that it makes ice cubes slowly. For Thanksgiving dinner, I had to start gathering ice cubes 3 days early to have enough.

Not worth it
I replaced my french door refrigerator (which I couldn't get replacement parts for, another story) with this side by side and I have to say it's not worth it. I feel that it doesn't have the room that a french door does (my issue but still an issue). The water dispenser feature is what is most important for my family because this is all that we drink, comes out so slowly that it's frustrating. Secondly, this may be inconsequential to some but the light bulb in the freezer section is not working properly. I thought it was a blown bulb and was ready to spend the $60 to replace it (which is an exorbitant amount for a bulb) but the service dept at my local appliance store told me it shouldn't be the bulb so I went home and tried to unscrew the bulb and started playing with it and found that there must be something loose or there might be ice in the actual the receptical. So I sometimes have light and sometimes i don't. It also freezes the food on the lower shelves if the food is pushed against the back wall of the fridge. This is frustrating for me since this refrigerator is only 3 years old!Bottom line....don't buy it!

Frozen on refrigerator side.
We bought this refrigerator to replace an old Frigidaire refrigerator because we were having problems with frozen items in the refrigerator side. After the delivery personnel set up the unit and ran water through it they told us to dump two cycles of ice so that we would not get any impurities. It dumped one cycle of ice and nothing more and the water dispenser in the door quit working. Turned out that the water filter was frozen solid. Same reason we replaced the old refrigerator. What happened to the good refrigerators my mom and dad used to buy?

Too Darn NOISY
I bought this refrigerator and lost my quiet house.I am very unhappy and I do not think GE cares. They put in a cheap noisy fan.Bad management. Great cost-control. Cheap components as far as I can tell.
