Miflex 312507Start-up capacitor motor capacitor 55μF 450V 50x119mm line ; 55uF,grey

Looking hopeful. ..I thought I'd wrecked my 20+ year old (?) Flymo Venturer Turbo 350 (20kg, built like a tank, with concrete blocks in it, with a heavy direct drive motor), when I hit a drain hole surround.It stopped working - would just hum, but rotor did not spin. The rotor could be turned by hand, but it was quite stiff (brake on?).Didn't know much about this type of motor - could it be something had shattered inside? Some research suggested, that the motors are pretty robust, and to always try the capacitor first.I did try and get the motor open, but gave up trying to pull an obstinate end plate off the rotor shaft.Opening the mower, did give it the best service it never had.I tested the capacitor and it read 12.1 uF on my multimeter, so way below range of the original (ARCOTRONICS 1.27 6SC1 MKP 16 uF +- 5% b). (NB. Capacitors can store dangerous voltages, so safety always - discharge the capacitor first, and then isolate, and do not touch the meter probes when measuring).Only problem with the replacement capacitors, was that the original had 2x 3mm spades on the top, which inserted into an insulated housing terminator connected to the motor. I couldn't find any modern replacements with 3mm spades. They were either 2x 6mm spades, or 4x 6mm spades, or wired.Chose this capacitor which had two wires to connect to. Managed to prise the bare wires out of the motor's insulted housing terminator, connect the new capacitor, and run a test, and it started successfully!Reassembled, making new wiring safe (using Wago 221's!).Chuffed!

Fitted it about 3 months ago and it's still going.Not sure what else to sat really!

My 20 year old 240 volt Belle cement mixer suddenly stopped working. I purchased this capacitor in the hope of reviving it. It arrived within 24 hours, took less than 10 minutes to fit and the old machine started first press of the switch.An electrical engineer friend told me that the capacitor had probably blown because I was using a long extension lead, which wasn't fully uncoiled. Lesson learned and the cement mixer is still going strong several weeks later.

Saved my Flymo from landfill. Really easy to replace. Remember to keep the nut from your old capacitor as the new one didn't come with a nut.

I bought this to replace a capacitor in an electric lawnmower which failed to start. My lawnmower now works a treat. Just a pity that the delivery charge made the part itself a tad expensive. Overall still cheaper and more environmentally friendly than buying a new lawnmower.

Item exactly what I required to repair my old lawnmower, saving me at least £80 for a replacement. Very swift delivery, too, which took me by surprise. Well done, all concerned.
