This tool is a rasp, not to be confused with a file. As a second cut rasp, it still has quite an aggressive cut, but this is ideal for it's intended purpose. Designed to easily cut soft materials without clogging, it is perfect for use on wood, plasterboard etc. My intended use was for enlarging some holes for downlighters which needed to be fitted to a plasterboard and plywood ceiling. It was ideal for this application and the half round shape allowed easy enlarging of the curved surfaces of the holes. On these soft materials the finish obtained was quite smooth. A file would not have been suitable due to the teeth being too small and getting clogged almost immediately (I know because I tried a file before buying this rasp.) This tool is excellent quality Swedish steel, not cheap Chinese rubbish as provided by lesser makes. I have always been very pleased with Bahco tools, and although they cost a bit more, they are well worth the extra expense. With careful use this tool will give many years of good service. Highly recommended!

This purported to be a fine cut rasp. It is nothing of the sort and so is a real disappointment. It wasn't particularly cheap and therefore represents extremely bad value for money. It is a tool not fit for the purpose I bought it for. I shall almost certainly not be buying Bahco tools again.
