Sauder Graham Hill Multimedia Storage Rack

I spent a long time trying to find the right cabinet for my growing DVD collection. Most of the other cabinets I looked at had at least one shelf that would not store DVDs vertically. About ten years ago, I bought a massive computer desk from Sauder (the manufacturer of this product), and it is still in great condition, so I trusted the name, even though there was only one prior review on this item. The other reviewer also mentioned the shelves had "bowed" a little, so she inserted wooden supports in the middle of each shelf. That sounds like a workable solution, but I have not noticed any bowing with just normal DVD storage. UPDATE: After about 1 year of use, I did notice some bowing on the shelves that are completely full of DVDs. I followed the other reviewer's recommendation and cut some boards and placed them in the center of the shelves to eliminate this bowing. That has solved the problem. A photo of the shelves with the wooden supports appears on the main page for this product.The package was very securely wrapped and well protected during shipping. Assembly only took me about 90 minutes, but others could probably do it a lot faster. The directions were very easy to follow, and all of the pieces fit together nicely. NOTE: when you unfold the thin material that covers the back of the shelf, it appears to be a little narrower than the cabinet itself. It is not! Just make sure you're flatening it out completely, so it fits evenly all around, before you put the nails in. If you don't, it will leave a little gap between the shelves and the back. The instructions mentioned this, but I did not follow it precisely. That was my fault, but it's no big thing.All shelf heights can be adjusted easily by repositioning any of the boards (except for top and bottom board). Dimensions: 54 1/2" high / 6 1/2" deep shelves / 9 1/2" deep at base. Each shelf is 35" wide and can comfortably hold 60 DVDs vertically (total 360). There are four small supplied rubber feet that can be placed on the bottom of the cabinet to make it more stable. However, since my cabinet sits flush on a carpet, up against a wall, I did not attach them. It also comes with a mounting bracket for permanently attaching to a wall, if you so choose. I would not use this product without some type of wall support.One minor note: although the packing slip that came with my unit indicates "autumn maple" as the color, if you look at the photo I provided, you will see a much darker color than the stock photo shown. I don't know the name of this finish, but it is definitely not "Autumn Maple." I was a little surprised by this, but not disappointed, as I think it looks nice. Of course, classier cabinets made of real wood are available, but they cost much more than I wanted to spend.

I desperately needed new storage for my DVD collection as I had already filled up the three smaller towers that I own. I wanted something bigger that would fit my entire collection and found this one. It's what you would expect from any of the particle board pieces of furniture you can buy at Target or Walmart. It's not as sturdy as I would have liked and I wouldn't put anything breakable on the top as it there's a bit of a wobble to it if you should bump into it, not so bad that you have to worry about it toppling over but any knickknack type items on the top might not be so lucky. The biggest negative is that as soon as I loaded up all the shelves, I noticed they started to bow a bit immediately. I figured that if they were already starting to bow right from the start, then I hated to see how badly they would bow after some time had passed. I solved that problem by having my husband cut some thin boards (about the width of a DVD) to fit the height of each shelf and I placed them down the center of the unit. It seems to do the trick and the boards pretty much blend right in. I may eventually stain them to match the color a bit closer but for now, it works.

Doesn't match any maple I've ever seen!! Much darker !! Not even close!!

It arrived earlier than I thought and was packaged so well that there wasn't a chance that anything could be damaged. I'm always a little concerned when I buy wooden products that will be shipped, but it was so snug in styro that I didn't need to be worried this time. The product itself is absolutely beautiful, pretty easy to put together, and holds my entire movie collection (DVDs, videos in reg boxes AND puffy boxes) with room to grow!! I currently have carpet, so it isn't bolted to the wall, but I was pleased that it came with the hardware for that option should I need to use it. The price was right, too. Another out of the park, Sauder!!

Just as advertised. I know it's a DVD shelf but it would be nice if it was sturdier for some books. Other than that a great product.

This was a Christmas gift. They really liked it. I would have preferred a taller one but it was perfect for them. Lots of room.

It was easy to put together. There were no nicks anywhere. It looks good in the living room. Reasonable price.

Item recieved was not oak colored, more of a dark mahogony.Color was discovered after the item was assembled.I have seven other items from this group and another storage tower and this is not the same
