I purchased this book for my 8 month old to learn about seasons/see some summer scenes and because under the quarantine we really miss the beach. What a lovely book! He loves opening the flaps over and over again. Word to the wise: the sentences inside the flaps start with the word "No", so I say "oh look, there's ___" instead so as not to confuse my baby. I want the book to be positive for him and I'm trying to teach him about what "No" actually is, and I want him to keep exploring the book without it sounding like a reprimand. So that is something about it I didn't particularly like, but it's not annoying enough to knock a star off the rating. Awesome book, though. If you're stuck indoors like we are, put on a sun hat, play some ocean wave ambience and immerse your baby in the beach with this book! This is what reading is all about!

Both of my kids have loved this series of books since they were babies. Love to get them as baby gifts since holiday books are uncommon when you're buying "staples," but always fun to have throughout the year.

My son is obsessed with balls, which is why I bought him this book. Theres only a ball on the cover page and the last page though. My son also closes the book to show me the cover when I ask him where the beachball is 😂 I wish the flaps were a little smaller. Graphics are nice and colorful.

From my daughter's perspective she loves it- all books in this series- the pictures are cute, brightly colored, and the flaps are sturdy for 1- 1.5 year old to open without any issue... From a parent's perspective I caution you from buying because your kid will like this book too much and you'll get sick and tired of it.

I recently purchased this book for one of the toddlers in my pre-school class as a birthday gift. My son also loved this book when he was younger and he actually still pulls it out every once in a while at age 5. Lift the flap books are really great for child development and motor skills. We have several Karen Kats lift the flap books and the kids love being able to help lift the flaps as we read. I would recommend this book mainly for ages 1-3.

I bought this book for my son in anticipation for our trip to the beach. Karen Katz always has the most adorable illustrations and my son loves the flaps. I do have to use shipping tape to make it more secure, otherwise he'd be ripping them out. I did count the number of tentacles on the Octopus page and he has eight, so I think she took note of other feedback and made the correction. Overall we love her books, she has the most vivid colorful illustrations and we love them..

My granddaughter did tend to want to rip the pages but they are very good quality. Now that she is older she still loves it.
