The CD player is really handy, looks cute and our children love it. It reads all CDs and doesnt have an issue with scratches, but you will have to use a 9V adapter that is not included in the box.It really sucks 6 C batteries like nothing else. You will end up paying 10 times the amount of the player on batteries if you dont want to hook it up with an adapter.By the way. It costs less at Toys R Us

We bought this for our son for Christmas, and it lasted less than 2 days on the brand new batteries we put in. This kept happening (a few days at a time on good batteries, not cheap ones), even when we made sure to turn the machine off when not in use. As stated above, the adaptor plug is NOT included. It is also not easy to get- you have to mail a money order to the company, and then they will send you the plug. For over 20 bucks, no thanks. I guess if you have great rechargeable batteries or own stock in Energizer, maybe this is the toy for you. For us, it is nothing more than a decoration collecting dust on my son's bureau.

I bought this in the store (on sale for $20 bucks). When I opened it I was sure I dropped the adapter somewhere when lo and behold - there's a card included stating that you can order the adapter for only $21.99 (with free shipping and handling). Screw you!! That's more than I paid for the dumb thing! Who sells this without the adapter??Thank God for amazon (should have checked the reviews here before buying anyway, but my son was in love with it nonetheless), and I found the adapter I needed here for only $10.
