it looks like the controlling board in the battery wasn't able to ...
Bought the cooler in Nov 2016, now early Feb 2018 a few months outside of the one year warranty.....battery has failed, speaker has failed....asked the company via email for some help as this cooler doesn't get a whole lot of use...and I got the "we are sorry you are outside of warranty" being an engineer what the heck lets go see what failed.....it looks like the controlling board in the battery wasn't able to regulate "overcharging" ....in the response from the company "Lithium Ion batteries have a life span" which is true through THOUSANDS of cycles. But again this unit didn't have THOUSANDS of cycles. would be surprised if it had 100, its the same stuff as my RYOBI drill set but not at their quality. the Speaker is a mess, parts of the board are not sealed with ANYTHING and open to moisture intrusion...The speaker should not be involved with ANY moisture at all. I have done a lot of IP68 and IP69 in my day and would love to see the results they got form theirs. I got my cooler at a MUCH cheaper price of about $200...not worth even that, Go get an RTIC because in a year or so under LIGHT use the accessories on this unit will probably fail and you know the what the email will say what you ask them to replace them.

Don't Buy too, very poor quality
I purchased this cooler and the battery only lasted four charges. It is a custom battery for the cooler so you only have one poor option to buy a battery to power this cooler. The cooler keeps items cool like an old traditional cooler, not like a Yeti. The electronic items that are built in are nice, but if the battery doesn't last past four or five charges then won't take a charge, then "extras" are of no use without battery. I reached out to customer service and they gave me the option of buying a new battery for $50. Cooler is OK but battery is horrible thus without a battery this is just a regular igloo cooler from the 90s.

A piece of crap!
Super excited about this product but turned out to be a HORRIBLE NIGHTMARE! Trying to talk to in regards of customer support is like sending smoke signals. The battery doesn't even charge. Made out of cheap materials and when I did finally get a hold of customer service they said the warranty doesn't cover it for once you receive the item it should be charged right away. Mind you I received this item dead in the winter who would want to take this out of the box at that time. Also a replacement battery is $55 and currently out of stock for the next year. Wow what a waste of money. DONT EVEN BOTHER SPENDING A PENNY ON THIS CRAP!!!!

No customer service
The product is and was a big hit with our busy lifestyle and our family, however, the blender motor broke less than 3 months after we got it and there is virtually NO customer service for Coolest Coolers!!!! Not happy!

Great...while it works....
I have the coolest cooler (original hard cooler) and my battery is no longer charging. I need a new battery and the site is sold out.First - we have used this cooler less than 30 times, including the battery. I am beyond disappointed that the battery will no longer hold a charge. We do not keep the battery on the charger, EXCEPT for 12 hours prior to use.Second - I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why this battery is only available through Coolest, yet the battery is sold out. The whole point of spending $400 on a cooler was specifically for the battery usage. We brought our cooler onto a friend's boat and were horrified when the blender wouldn't work, after bragging about how much cooler our cooler was than theirs. Embarrassing.Third - It is also amazing to me that there is no phone number for someone to call to speak with a representative of this company. Do they stand behind your products, or not?

Save your money...
I am one of the original Kickstarter backers. In fact, I backed 2 Coolests with the intention of giving them to my adult children for Christmas. I understood that this would not happen the first Christmas, but I mocked up my own coolest, ie, a cooler with a blue tooth speaker, and a hand mixer inside. I paid $185 +$15 delivery charge for each of my 2 Coolests. The delivery date was supposed to be Feb 2015,....... as of this date 3/3/2017, fully 2 years + past the delivery date all I've gotten is crickets and emails with empty promises and tales of woe. My backer number is in the low 11,000's. 62,000+ people backed this project. I'd venture to guess that less than half of us have received a coolest. We also got email offers to pay a ransom of $97 each for expedited shipping. Ah, no, I'm not paying twice. As I keep my promises, I did buy one from Amazon last October/November for the discounted rate of $199 and told the kids to share. At $199 it's still over priced, it's heavy empty, once filled with ice and drinks, good luck.....

Bad idea to buy the coolest cooler
This cooler is a piece of junk. I have carried it to the beach three times . First time i thought 12 hour charge wasn't enough because it only blended drinks once. 2nd time it worked fine. Now today it once again blended one blender of drinks. DO NOT BUY
