... twelve years or so for walking my dogs in bad weather. The new coat was to replace it
I have had one of these coats for the last twelve years or so for walking my dogs in bad weather. The new coat was to replace it. The only problem with the coat are the sleeves. The lining in the sleeves gets wet with sweat, even on cold days. They need a different kind of material. Manufacturer take note. You need a shorter coat underneath it. But for the sleeves I would have rated it five.

my first impression of the jacket is very favourable size fit etc. are all favourable however I have yet to test it in heavy rain which after all is what I bought it for. I have evry reason to expect it to perform very well

Really needs correct sizing
I was advised by the seller to have an XXl size for a 46" chest, that size could have gone around me twice so think less is best. The quality is good, nice finish

Very good coat for the money.
The design of the pockets would have been better with a flap covering the top. In heavy rain the rain can run into the pockets with the current design. A pocket on the horizontal with a flap would overcome this problem. Apart from that a good coat for the money.

Excellent rain protection
My second Jack Murphy coat, though the first with a hood. Excellent for keeping the rain out, without needing overtrousers, too, in most instances.

Dry as a bone
Very good coat. Bought it for dog-walking. Properly waterproof, unlike the last one I bought - plus it goes down to the top of my wells, so no more wet jeans. Withstood the storms last winter, no trouble. Slightly long in the arms, if I was being really picky.
