I recently had my grandfather's 100-year-old pocket watch restored. The watch repair shop thought it deserved to be on display, but protected, and recommended I get a glass dome display stand.This one worked perfectly. The proportions are ideal. The watch hangs from the hook inside, and the dome does not look oversized for the item inside.It's an elegant solution for a distinctive timepiece.Note: The glass dome sits in a groove on the wooden base, but is does not attach in any way. The dome is loose and can be lifted right off. If you're worried about prying hands, don't consider this secure.

The only negative is that it was not big enough for the intended item. I have put other things in it and it holds and displays beautifully.

Very nice little display dome, with enough character in the hand blown glass to give it a vintage vibe. For those interested in specific dimensions, here they are:-Base: 4" in diameter, 1/2" thick.Dome: 4", 2-7/8" inside diameterWire hanging hook: point object hangs from is 2-3/4" high, but can be bent upwards (or downwards) relatively easily to shift it roughly 1/4" without making it look odd.Mine is holding my great-great grandfather's pocket watch which is 1-15/16" wide, with a hanging point 2-3/4" above its lowest point. I bent up the hook the merest amount and it fits it very well indeed.I'm surprised I found something this nice looking for so little - if whatever you're going to display fits inside the dimensions above, I think you'll be surprised by the quality this presents, especially at the price point.

I purchased it to accompany the gift to my youngest son of an antique (no longer working) pocket watch that belonged to my father. Since the cost of repairing the watch was substantial, and since its value was mostly sentimental, a jewelry store employee suggested I order such a display housing for it. It was a good idea, and I pursued it, thus discovering this item on amazon.com. It's not elaborate or heavy, but it seems both acceptable and adequate for the intended purpose.

Das war ein Testkauf, wie gut der Einkauf bei Amazon US funktioniert. Ich bin sehr erfreut. Die Ware kam perfekt verpackt und völlig intakt bei mir an. Der Versand hat kein 14 Tage gedauert. Der Dom ist aus echtem Glas. Der Sockel ist aus MDF funiert. Das ist zwar nicht das selbe, wie echtes Holz, aber durchaus völlig in Ordnung und war auch so beschrieben. Die Aufhängung ist aus Drat und hat einen schönen Schwanenhals. Bei größeren Uhren müsste das ggf. geändert werden, sonst hängt die Uhr zu tief. Der Drat steht aber am Rand, so dass die Uhr wirklich in der Mitte des Doms hängt. Für mich perfekt.
