The Zondervan 2015 Pastor's Annual: An Idea and Resource Book (Zondervan Pastor's Annual)

great buy for back up/emergency sermons
This is a pretty good resource that I have done several series from over the last few years. The 2015 edition is just as solid as the last few years have been with sound biblical scholarship. I've spent some time looking through it and am disappointed with a few things.I don't like that they do not include a cd of the book. You are able to go online and download a free copy but it takes a few steps to get to and then you only have 5 times to download it within a certain amount of time. I'd just prefer that they sent a disk or a flash drive with the book.I feel that the overall tone of this years annual seems pretty dry. I was hoping for some fresh approaches to scripture with this years annual but I feel like it's pretty much the same in tone and perspective as it has been the last few years.I always think that many of the illustrations used talk about public figures or events in history that are un-relatable and dated. I'd love to start seeing some more contemporary examples in future annuals. The special ceremonies outlines have always been solid and provide good variety.

Where's the CD?
As others have already said...the omission of the CD was unexpected and very disappointing. I guess I should have read the info more carefully. This is the fourth year that I've included this idea/resource book, and I still search the old CD's from time to time. The first thing I did with this book was open it up and discover that there is no CD. Not sure if Zondervan or Crabtree either one will look at the Amazon reviews, but I will not purchase this for 2016 if they do not offer the CD.*****Update****** Just wanted to update this review. Zondervan has reduced costs of producing the CD but has made the content available for download once you have purchased the book.

I do not like that. The CD saved me valuable time trying ...
I have used these books in the past as a valuable resource. They are well written and well organized. However, I do have one problem: all the issues in the past have had a CD included that had all the sermons in WORD format. This new edition excludes the CD. I do not like that. The CD saved me valuable time trying to use excerpts from these messages in my own. Now I have to type what I want instead of cut and paste. Yeah, I know, big deal right? Still a great resource though...bring back the CD.

Very Good Sermon Resouce
This is a great resource book for pastors. Even if you don’t follow the preaching program, it offers many sermon topics that can spark a thought or idea that you can develop on your own. Especially nice is that all of the resources are available in a downloadable/Microsoft Word format. Instead of the companion CD, Zondervan makes all of the materials available online when you register the book purchase. This saves amazing amounts of time.
