I Got To Say..............I Am Impressed
I (like most of you) was very skeptical to pay only $50 for a flat bench like this, but being for our home gym I didn't see the need of spending much so I decided to roll the dice. So glad we did!! I don't think there is another weight bench on the market that is this solid for $50 bucks. Very sturdy, looks solid from a distance, and I am 250lbs and it holds anything I do on it without flinching. Very much worth the money. I highly recommend, and I am very picky so that should tell you something.

The primary purpose of a super curl bar is to allow a natural hand position ...
The primary purpose of a super curl bar is to allow a natural hand position and decrease strain on wrist and forearm tendons while curling, tricep extensions etc. Personally I have tendinitis and have always had issues with pain while doing barbell curls and find that the more supinated my grip (palms facing me) the more pain I get in my forearm, and likewise less supinated the less pain I get. Most curl bars seem to have a fairly light angle to them that is perhaps 15-20 degrees of angle off inline which for persons who want something just better and more natural than a barbell those are great. This Cap Barbell is an extreme angle roughly 45 degrees off angle and is the most extreme angle I have been able to find. After using it for a month I have noticed a decrease in my tendinitis pain meaning it was obviously being aggravated by my other curl bar with less angle. Cap is a well known name for weights but this is the first of their bars I have owned. It definitely does not have pro-level bearings as both ends squeaked on every rep until I hit them with some WD40 which I don't really mind, but I did almost dock a star for not greasing the bar appropriately prior to shipping. Not everyone has the ability or desire to easily lubricate new items before using them. The weight collars are not something I have ever understood and immediately went into the trash. I will take a cheap set of rabbit ear clamps over collars any day as by nature the collars damage the bar, require fiddling to tighten and then again to loosen and take up un-necessary space on the floor, tub, bar or wherever they are. No deduction for what they gave "free" but it really would be nice if they gave rabbit ear clamps instead.Over all I still have to give 5 stars simply because the angle is perfect and hundreds of more expensive options have the exact same or worse flaws. For anyone working out at home/office these are great. Mind you my primary barbell is a 1600lb rated double bearing bar that I drop from 36" loaded with 400lbs. I wouldn't attempt that with this bar, but that is not what it is for so unless it breaks from normal usage I am happy with it. Truthfully if it broke tomorrow I would probably weld it back together or just buy the same one again.

Good quality bar, but not as comfortable as an EZ Curl Bar
First of all, this is a well made bar, excellent value for the price. If you've previously used a Super Curl Bar and are looking for an inexpensive bar of this exact type for home use you can't go wrong here. My one issue, which to be fair is a personal thing, is that the camber on this bar is it's extreme lack of versatility. I'm usually pretty sober when making decisions about buying home fitness equipment, and won't buy anything that I haven't already had experience using. In choosing to buy this bar however I made a bit of a leap. For different purposes I find great value both in EZ Curl Bars and Triceps Bars and, on the occasion when I purchased this bar, those bars were what I was looking for. However, when looking at the pictures of this bar and the angle of the cambered shaft, it looked to me like I could save some cash (and space in my tiny home gym) and cover the functions of both the EZ and Triceps bars with this bar alone. Unfortunately upon receiving the bar, not so. It makes a poor substitute for either - the camber is too much to comfortably substitute for an EZ Bar and too little to mimic the medium width neutral grip granted by the Triceps Bar. It's okay for brachialis dominant curling exercises but prevents the ROM necessary for a full bicep peak contraction and, for me at least, doesn't alleviate wrist stress anything like as well as the EZ Bar. When trying to grip the steeper part of the cambered grip for a more neutral hand position there isn't enough comfortable grip space and it's extremely uncomfortable. The bar does work well for upright rows and the aforementioned brachialis curls but beyond that isn't much use IMO. As said thought, that's not a criticism of the product quality, more of the Super Curl Bar design itself.

JUST BUY THE THING AND IGNOR THE COMPLAINTS. THAT IS WHAT I DID AND I HAVE NO REGRETS.
Cannot find any reason someone would complain about this product; there is no problems in balance, weights falling off, clamps loosening, etc.. If you lift Professionally with control there is never going to be a problem with this curl bar. It is a 100 percent professional super curl bar. I bet that the complaining reviews are amateur lifters that lift fast and jerky, and drop the bar on the ground right before fully placing it on the ground and I can see how that might loosen the collar clamps holding the weights, and a far as the balance of the bar not being right as some complaining reviews declared, I still have yet to figure out what they are complaining about when the bar I received has no problems in balance, no problems in collars falling off or loosening etc...Complaining Review are always wise to listen to, but for this product called the Cap Barbell Solid Super Curl Bar with Collars it is best to ignore the complaints and just buy it since you want it, and you will see that you will be very happy with the product if it is used correctly.

Excellent EZ curl bar.
I saw several reviews that stated the gnarling on this bar was too rough. I do not find it too rough. I dont have particularly rough hands either, pretty much only have calluses from weight lifting/bass playing. If you do find the bar too rough you could just wear weightlifting gloves.I basically only use this for curls and lying tricep extensions.I have loaded the bar with up to 90 lbs and it seems fine, collars rotated nicely.I didn't use these collar locks that came with the bar, they went straight into the recycling bin...I use the iron bull plastic locking ones, which have yet to fail me.I am sure you could spend a lot more and get a nicer bar, but if you are just looking for a decent ez curl bar, this is great. I have been using the 6' 2" cap barbell, and 2" cap db handle, both are decent. I don't think CAP is your top of the line brand, but they are certainly good enough.

Good price for the quality
So far I am happy with this curl bar. I'm not sure how much it weighs, however it has good weight to it and feels like it's made of good quality material. I only use it for bicep/tricep exercises, so I'm no where close to maxing it's weight threshold either. The collars it comes with are essentially useless. I've been using regular spring collars instead and it makes it much more enjoyable to use.The knurling is pretty good at well, helps provide a good grip. The curvature of the bar is ok, not ideal for me for the exercises I do, but everyone's anatomy is different.
