Made for Shade!
This beach tent exceeded far beyond my expectations! I’m very picky and obsessive compulsive. I recently purchased this for a beach trip in NC where it’s really windy with constant weather changes. The tent stayed secure using stakes and sand bags. During a 4 hour rain storm, everything stayed dry! Follow the instructions, and put up/take down is easy and quick. It’s perfect shade for 2 adults, comfortable for 3 adults, and do-able for 4 adults. The quality is great and judged to be durable. (I’ve only used it one week) I ordered the yellow and love the color. I also like the extended mat— the design for use as a changing tent is a huge plus. I wouldn’t want one without it. I am seriously thinking of purchasing another one!

the tent is surprisingly larger than expected and perfect for the beach
It's not orange. It's yellow. Despite that, the tent is surprisingly larger than expected and perfect for the beach! If you have children, a beach tent is the way to go. Compact, easy to carry and clean, and put up. Can easily fit two adults. My boyfriend and I have even taken this on an impromptu camping trip when we didn't have our actual camping tent. Not great for camping but definitely gets the job done. It needs ventilation if you don't want the heat to condense inside.

Color is more of a golden yellow and not orange. Sets up like a tent, practice before taking it out. Buy stronger stakes
I bought this after going through TWO Sport Brellas in very short order. I bought one at Costco and the second was a replacement by the manufacturer. They went up super easy but both broke after a few uses in light to moderate wind so that brought me to this product.I set it up by myself right after receiving it and it was a bit confusing at first and my frustration almost made me send it back. It seemed like it would be too time consuming to set up while managing my two young children. I shifted my mindset to that of setting up a tent, not the easier Sport Brellas I had before, and it became easier to tackle. I stumbled through the first time set up but once it was up and I saw the finished product, I realized it will be a lot easier now.It was also breezy in my backyard as I set it up and that didn't make it any more challenging because the directions say to anchor the base before trying to set the poles and erect the shelter. This is important! It is very roomy and provides very adequate shade. I can also tell that it's much sturdier than the Sport Brella, which failed at the hub where all the spokes meet - something that is a catastrophic product failure and not repairable. Should a pole break on this Coleman, that is easily replaced.PROS:Sturdy and should be fine in windAwning design creates extra shadeHas a floor for extra protectionCan be made private for dressingVery roomyCan be set up by one personPockets around interior perimeter of tent for weigh it down (can use included sand bags or rocks)Base can be anchored before erecting shelterCarrying case is only 23 inches long and about 6 inches tall - stores easily!Sets up like a tentCONS:Stakes are flimsy - I bent one the first time I tried to set it up. I already had more sturdy alternates on hand that I will use going forward. Be prepared to get better stakes if the ground is at all firm.Takes a bit of practicePoles are long so watch out for people around you while you set it upPoles get hung up easily on sheaths and come apart easily when removing them.Fit is tight into carrying bag, but no worse than any other tentSets up like a tent (this is a pro or a con depending on your preference/experience)Color wasn't orange, it was more of a golden yellowTIPS:Practice setting it up before taking it out for useAnchor the floor/base FIRST so the wind blow it awayBuy more sturdy stakes for hard groundHave plenty of space for inserting polesOne reviewer suggested setting the poles into the shelter in the parking lot and walking it to the set up spotIf you have kids, give them a job during set up so they can be a helper not a hinderer.Take a picture after you set it up so you know what it looks like when completed. Keep it on your phone or print it and put it in the carrying bag OR laminate it and attach it to the handle with a zip tie, if you want to go that far

It has 4 little extra pockets inside!
The best overlooked extra is that it has four little mesh pockets in each corner of the tent. I used it to put my phone and sun lotion etc. it was easy to put up, and put down. Once it’s folded (which honestly it was a little hard to make it fit in the small bag) and put away, it doesn’t take up space which I love. I can keep in my trunk without it taking up space. I do wish it had extra “air flow” but what it has is good enough. It came in time, I got it at a discount price of 35.00. Would def purchase again. Loved the color as well. Very bright.

Product seems good
This camping shade is pretty nice and roomy. I set it up by myself in the living room. I have to say that it would be much simpler if it had clips instead of the really long pole sleeves but that might be for stability. The grommets at the floor for stakes and poles are very flimsy so I have already knocked one out which is too bad since I like this concept and it will easily fit into my suitcase. Oh ya and it took forever to get this item, I have prime and it took several months. I finally had to contact amazon and ask what the problem was. I had ordered blue which was I guess backordered but amazon was dropping the affiliation so they were never going to get it. I had to ask if they had any, for instance, in another color because I didn't want to just cancel. She said yes they had several other colors so I picked orange. They charged me more than the one I ordered and when it came it was yellow. So weird but I think this is going to work out despite all the problems.

Great shade, good size, pretty easy to put together and stores in a handy bag!
Got to test it out on the beach yesterday and it was great! First time putting it together wasn't overly complicated (3 rods to slide into the fabric, 4 main stakes to push into the sand and voila!) Great at providing shade while the openings provided the breeze to come through, gave us a private spot to change our two year old, as well as a 5'2" adult :) Saved us from a lineup at the washroom. Ordered the orange and it's actually more yellow than orange.

Used it for the first time and was fairly easy to set up
Used it for the first time and was fairly easy to set up. The sleeve where the poles are inserted is now made of full fabric and not a mesh. I was please with this as others have commented that the mesh tends to tear easily. The Shelter provided excellent shade from the blistering mid-day sun. It allowed us to stay at the beach for a lot longer than we would have without a shelter. While inside the shelter, I noticed some sewing seams a were not straight and mistakes where stiches were removed leaving small needle holes. When putting away, I noticed a round ring on the sand. Upon further investigation, I discovered that the metal ring had fallen off one of the anchor points. Not too happy with the quality so far as I've only used it once and the 2 issues above came up. Not worth sending in for warranty repair as shipping will be too much. Hope the shelter will hold up as I've only used it once so far.

Pole broke after one use
We really liked the shade tent, but when we were packing it up after the first use one of the poles split (see pic). After contacting Coleman, they sent replacement poles. However, they "no longer offer tent specific replacement poles. We only have universal replacement kits that will require some adjustments to be made. You will need to cut the kits to the accurate size and assemble them." So I have to cut the new poles to size and feed the elastic string through them all in order to have a pole that fits the tent and bag. What a pain! And after only one use.

Easy Set Up
Easy to set up. You will need a 2nd person to achor the poles, or something sturdy to lean them against. Used it for a sun shelter and a quick nap so the ability to zip up the front for privacy was a nice touch. Very light weight and packs up easily.
