Mixed bag
I read this trio of books in paperback form but really feel the need to comment. The first two stories are ok but nothing special. The third story however is horrible. Its about an 18 year old virgin who is won from her father in a poker game. The greek winner takes her to his island and repeatedly rapes her. She for some strange reason falls in love with him. This is not a romance but a tale of abuse pretending to be a romance. The greek guy by rights should have ended up castrated. In my opinion Ms. Craven should hang her head in shame for seemingly condoning abusive behaviour towards young women.

Confusing but well written
This review is about the last of these four, named THE HIGHEST STAKES OF ALL : First of all, this book was probably written around 70's - in the first page it says 1975. And that should explain it. Ms Craven is a talented writer, so it's easy to keep reading even though the antics of the Hero makes me want to scream and throw my kindle to the wall. *Spoilers!* The forced seduction -plot is sooooo oldfashioned and so is the chauvinism here too. But I liked how the heroine stayed truthful to herself and strong to the end. Even the H was sympathetic somehow and was grovelling nicely in the end. It would have got four stars but for the forced bedding.
