Villa Balbiano: Italian Opulence on Lake Como

I bought two from this publisher... it depends on your expectations. For me I’m looking for Alidad or Jacques Garcia... this isn’t it. Parts of the volume are opulent and indicative of luxurious interior design but there are too many shots of the gardens and extetior.

There are too many meaningless double-page shots of details of furniture. We don't get whole rooms, see how the pieces relate to each other. I'm a BIG fan of Garcia and have all his other books especially his own home. But it seems that there was a deadline and the house is not really finished. We see some beautifully painted walls and some art and the music room and a bedroom or two but I'm not getting a feel of the whole house. Disappointing.
