Trader Joe's Gluten Free Falafel Mix 16 Ounces

While I Appreciated this mix being gluten free, the cumin flavor overwhelmed the mix to the point that it was all I could taste. The texture was good and it was easy to make.

We made the whole package by frying and then froze most of the balls. (Easy to reheat by partially warming in the microwave and then baked at high heat to recrisp the outside.)We live 100 miles from a restaurant that serves handmade Falafel, and it's been 18 months since we ate there. Given that distant memory, these were great! I wouldn't complain if a restaurant served them to me.We can't buy decent pita bread so we eat falafel on a bed of salad greens with all the typical accompaniments. Plus, Stacy's Pita Chips from Amazon.The chips arrived with 22 months left on the expiration date.

This mix is very easy to prepare, much easier than a scratch recipe when you need to be gluten free. I don't know why but all of the Med restaurants in my area put wheat flour in their falafel, or their fryer is contaminated with gluten. So, I have found this product extremely helpful when I want Mediterranean cuisine.

A little spicier than I would prefer, but easy to make.

Likes taste and ease of oven baking....comes up a little on dry side.

They were very salty and had a terrible flavor. We had to throw them away!
