Conservas Billante history starts in Sicily (Italy), the birthplace of salters. Theirs great-grandfathers arrived at the coast of the Basque Country on the trail of a high quality product and they docked in Mutriku where, after being astonished at the quality of the fish on its coast, they settled and put all of their knowledge into practice to use traditional techniques in order to obtain canned fish of the highest quality. Over 140 years of history have taught Conservas Billante to value and uphold traditional production methods, so they strongly believe that this is the way to obtain a high quality product while at the same time respecting the environment. Furthermore, this enables them to promote local fishing and the traditional culture of a coastline.
