Castlevania: Season 1 (BD) [Blu-ray]

Liked the cool picture on the case...was like the original game photo, but with an update. Castlevania is one of my favorite game series ever, and this is even better. The T-shirt was the right size for me, and liked the picture on it. Seeing a Belmont fight the armies of darkness in animation form is awesome. Now I just have to get the other seasons of Castlevania on Blue-Ray to complete the collection.

This is a great series. When I started watching it, I was a little surprised at how good it was. This first season really helps to set the pace for the rest of the series. The story is great and really keeps you wanting more. I was actually excited to see the next episode. Almost the same kind of excitement I had when watching Game of Thrones or The Witcher (the first and second seasons). This is definitely one of the better shows to come out, and well worth the pick up.

Cool take on the games and the original Dracula book.

If you are into Castlevania or gothic horror mythos you should like this a lot. Can be very violent so probably not for young kids.

This show is exactly what I had been searching for thus far. It provides plenty of fighting scenes with beautiful combat choreography, in depth lore that’s fairly easy to put together, and attractive main characters all around! (Looking at you, Dracula)

I thought this was an anime from Japan for the longest time before I watched it, but it’s actually not. This show is amazing and has really great animation, storyline and themes. This show does a great job at getting you to understand and sympathize with the “antagonist”, and for me that’s the sign of great writing. My only complaint is that season 1 is so short, but it was done so well that it’s really not an issue. The price at least reflects the episode count, I think I got this for $10 or less on Amazon day. It’s right at 96 minutes in length. Season 1 sets it up for the long haul and does a lot of world building and setting the scene. For those who aren’t aware, this is actually an adaptation of an original video game; I never played the video games as it was before my time for the most part, but even still it’s entirely self contained and no prior knowledge is needed. I fell in love with this show and highly recommend it, along with season 2 & 3. Of course if you are familiar with the games, I’ve been told there are many hints and Easter eggs you’d notice, which makes me want to play them. If you’re not sure you’d like it, check it out on Netflix! Seriously though this show is amazing, and I loved the themes involving religion and family. This show deals with some heavy and dark themes, it’s suspenseful, action packed and very well written. While they’re absolutely nothing alike in storyline, themes or anything else, this show is comparable in quality to Avatar: The Last Air Bender as one of the best western animations. It includes a really gorgeous slipcover that’s holographic like, VIZ did a great job on the release. 10/10 all around

Its got some good action. Its worth viewing, I have yet for season 2. Favorite part monster-" your all going to hel..bllah" monster gets batch slapped by a whip that splits monster in half. Didn't let the one finish the sentence. Also castle takes out three figures picking on an old man. while near the end they fight a large cyclops before entering a vampires resting place for a showdown. I'd rate it an 8.8 - 9.0

This series has some of the best writing I've seen in a very long time. The characters have life to them, they make sense, they're written with motivations that a person can understand. Whether you've played the games or not, you'll love it.

I love the original nintendo games for Castlevania, this is pretty cool, been years for waiting for this anime.

2017 erschien die erste Staffel von Castlevania via Netflix in den USA. Wie der Name schon erahnen lässt, ist es eine Adaption der umfangreichen Videospiel-Reihe von Konami, in der es es meistens - aber halt nicht immer - darum geht, als ein Mitglied der Vampirjäger-Familie Belmont Dracula und seine Schergen umzuhauen. Dummerweise kommen Dracula und sein magisches Schloss immer wieder aus dem Totenreich zurück, weswegen der Kampf mehr oder weniger endlos ist.Um die Belmonts und Dracula geht es auch in der animierten Serie, wobei sich die Macher ein paar Freiheiten in Sachen Story genommen haben. Diese spielt im 15. Jahrhundert in der Walachei im heutigen Rumänien. Vlad Dracula Țepeș ist zwar von Anfang an ein Vampir, der jedoch zurückgezogen lebt und den Menschen eigentlich nichts Böses will. Eines Tages lernt er eine Wissenschaftlerin kennen, die später zu seiner Frau wird. Doch die Kirche bezichtigt sie der Hexerei und verbrennt sie auf dem Scheiterhaufen. Das gefällt Dracula natürlich gar nicht: Er gibt den Bewohnern der Walachei ein Jahr Zeit, das Land zu verlassen. Wenn sie das nicht tun, soll großes Unheil über sie kommen. Die Bewohner bleiben, ein Jahr später spotten die Vertreter der Kirche sogar über den damaligen Vorfall. Doch Dracula hält Wort: Er hat eine Armee von Dämonen beschworen, die über das Land herzieht. Später tritt Trevor Belomont, unter anderem Protagonist aus dem dritten Castlevania-Spiel (1990 fürs NES erschienen), auf den Plan. Er macht Jagd auf die Dämonen und Dracula - und bekommt auch Hilfe von unerwarteter Seite...Die erste Staffel der Castlevania-Serie umfasst gerade mal vier Folgen mit einer jeweiligen Laufzeit von circa 25 Minuten. Viel ist das also nicht, insgesamt ergibt sich eine Spielfilmlänge. Der Animationsstil ist quasi eine Mischung aus westlichem und japanischem, wobei der westliche Stil überwiegt, wie ich finde (ich bin kein Anime-Fan, darum kann ich das nicht 100-prozentig beurteilen). Vor allem die Hintergründe sind sehr schön gestaltet, bei den Animationen selbst fällt allerdings auf, dass verhältnismäßig wenige Bilder pro Sekunde verwendet wurden: An vielen Stellen wirkt es ganz schön ruckelig. Der Look ist insgesamt dennoch gelungen (und zum Teil ganz schön blutig, für Kinder ist die Serie definitiv nichts), auch der Soundtrack passt. Am wichtigsten ist jedoch, dass die Geschichte spannend erzählt wird, ein paar kleine Humor-Einsprengsel, die aber nie Überhand nehmen oder deplatziert wirken, gibt es auch.Ich kann somit die erste Castlevania-Staffel empfehlen, auch wenn diese, wie erwähnt, sehr kurz ist. Wahrscheinlich wollten die Macher erst mal schauen, wie die Umsetzung ankommt - die zweite Staffel enthält schließlich schon acht Episoden. Wer sich die Staffel nicht nur auf Netflix angucken, sondern so wie ich auch physisch ins Regal stellen möchte, kann zur Blu-ray greifen. Die ist aber nur als Import erhältlich und hat entsprechend keine deutsche Synchro, dafür gibt es englische Untertitel und das gesprochene Englisch ist sehr gut verständlich. Enthalten sind aber eben nur vier Episoden und so gut wie keine Extras. Man muss also schon beinharter Sammler und/oder großer Castlevania-Fan sein, um zuzugreifen. Mit dem Regionalcode gibt's in Deutschland übrigens keine Probleme, die Blu-ray läuft also auf europäischen Playern.

Es un excelente DVD.La calidad de imagen y sonido es impresionante, particularmente me encantó que venga con audio en español latino.También me gustó que venga con material adicional como galería de arte y storyboards ya que así se puede apreciar un poco de el trabajo de producción de este programa.Ahora puedo disfrutar de este genial programa siempre en casa sin tener que preocuparme por la conexión a internet y/o la suscripción al servicio de Streaming.
