Beginner's paradise
Like many others, these were my first interchangeable needles, and I'm forever grateful that they were. The thicker cables are so easy to work with. Some find their inflexibility a detriment, but I found that it actually helped me when starting out because I wasn't constantly wrangling thin, plastic cables that had worked themselves (yet again) into various loops. The thickness with the smaller needle was also a boon because when knitting smaller items in the round, I would use the two circular method (similar to the magic loop) but wouldn't have any problems with laddering because I wasn't concerned about pulling too tightly. Since the cables weren't super-thin, I could tighten to my heart's content and not worry about creating too small a loop for when I changed sides. And I adore the needles themselves. I normally work in wool and find the resin to be more slick than wood but not as slippery as my Addis. I also tend to press the two needles rather hard against each other, so the slight bend in them is nice to have and causes less hand fatigue than when I use my Knitpicks or Addi. The case is just tre chic. It's got that vintage look and feel to it that just makes me smile everytime I reach for it. Honestly, I have more expensive sets, but I use my Denise set about 80% of the time. If the Denises have the needle size and the cable length, which is usually not a problem...especially with the extenders...I reach for them first. However, if making an extremely heavy object, like a bulky afghan, I'd probably use a solid cord (they sell them in extra long sizes just for this purpose) rather than using both extenders for a total of six joined sides. Why tempt fate?Pros: 100% Made in the USA with a company that stands by their brand and offers a lifetime warranty, a vintage (50's) look and feel, easy connectors with no screws or pins, smooth joints; though cable is too thick for a comfortable magic loop, the two circ method is just as good and (IMO) easier. Needles flex slightly and have nicely tapered points that aren't painfully sharp but allow for easy access under stitches. Plastic doesn't have any irritating friction of grinding if pressed hard against each other, such as doing k3tog. Replacement cables are only a couple of dollars and the Mom and Pop company that makes these is very nice and easy to deal with.Cons: Cables aren't labeled. Needles only go down to a size 5. Cords can be a bit grippy at times, especially with acrylics. The plastic sometimes creaks at the joins, which can be disconcerting, but I've never had a needle come loose, even when knitting a bulky sweater.

Arrived dirty and faded, but a great set.
Love the needle set, but the seller underwhelmed me. My set came covered in dust and nothing was wrapped in plastic or anything that made me think it was a new set. Plus the outside binding part was faded as though it was put on a bookshelf by a window and left for a long time. Just not the quality I was expecting for a product that was listed as new. That said, I'm not returning the set. The needles themselves are WONDERFUL. The yarn slides along easily without being too slippery. I find that I'm working projects faster than with my old Clover bamboo needles. Plus the cables are more flexible than other circular needles I've used. I'm even currently working a project that requires straight needles with these because they are such a joy to work with. I absolutely love this set. I'd buy the Denise Interchangeable Needles again in a heartbeat, but I'd try a different seller.Update as of November 2016:I'm not as in love with these needles as I was. I recently started knitting a sweater and am using 2 of the longer cables coupled together. In a matter of 2 days, the cables came uncoupled while I was working on the opposite side of the row at least 4 times. I had to go back and reknit several times. I realize that lifelines are there for such an emergency, but a project like this already takes a long time...I don't want to add to it. I think I'll stick with my Denise needles for smaller projects. I bought an Addi Turbo Rocket to use with the sweater and it's kind of ruined me for using any other needles. They aren't kidding when they say you knit faster with Addi's...what a dream to work with. The Denise needles do have a lot more drag, but for some yarns that's a good thing.I also found that the coupled cables (even when they don't come apart) are very difficult to use for a magic loop. I wanted to use them for a sock project, but they don't seem to be working out. I'm very disappointed.

Lightweight, flexible, affordable, and not too slippery!
I just bought these and I'm very pleased with them already. I was trying to find wood or bamboo interchangeable circulars, but thought I'd try these mainly based on price and (mostly) good reviews. The Denise set gives many options of needle size and cable length, and the connection is easy to make, (though as it's plastic, it might wear with time/use). I like how flexible the cables are, and I also like that the cables are a bit thicker than the Addi Turbo cables. They might not hold up quite as well as metal over long use, but at about 1/3 the price of the Addi set, I could buy another whole set and still come out ahead. My favorite part is that the plastic needles, while not being rough at all, seem to have a little bit more "grabby" surface to them (like the wood or bamboo I was looking for), making it easier for me to keep my very light-weight knitting project ON the needles! The metal ones are so heavy and slippery that they kept slipping out of the stitches, making for laborious re-mounting time. I know lots of people like the SPEEEEDY factor of the metal needles, and ultimately these are all matters of preference, but for me it made knitting more frustrating than fun.

Bien
