Causes a vignette circle at 16mm focal length! The New wide angle version is fantastic!
The item is well built you get a nice cleaning cloth which is a nice touch, and a lens cap which is great, and I do appreciate when companys give you extra accesories. I screwed the hood on to the 40.5 lens thread but on a sony 16-50 lens on the sony a6000 you get a complete vignette circle on 16mm focal length with the hood on. It's not till you zoom the lens in to past 21mm the circle disappears which is not any good to me unfortunately the hood may be just a little to deep so I've sent the item back and ordered another version which doesn't look as deep as this one hoping I dont get a circle on my images. Hope you all found the review helpful :)**Update** the company reached out to me after this review which says amazing things about the company. They sent me another version of this lens hood! It turns out they have a wide angle version! Which they did send me free of charge and the wide angle version is fantastic and does not cause the dark vignette circle on a apsc size sensor at 16mm so it's now perfect! You also get a nice lens cleaning cloth and a lens cap that clips onto to the lens hood which i very much appreciate. New pictures added to the gallery so you can see the new wide angle version! this company goes along way to keep its customers happy so A+++ to the company and a 5* product! thank you so much for sending me the new version :)

Use it on a Fuji XF 2.8 macro - good result
So, there I am by the banks of the river using my 80mm Fuji (expensive lens) And for the xxxx time the hood came loose only this time rolling into the depths and thus disappearing into history.A few macro lenses, Fuji's 60mm for instance, have a recess and hood are not really necessary I find - but the 80mm is like a normal lens and one of my favourites, so protection needed. Looked around and have tried the above - brilliant. Firm screw fit, a lens cap that fits to the hood not the end of the lens thus being tighter and easier eo ensure it doesn't come off into the bag - well pleased and - for this lens anyway would recommend purchasing rather than more expensive alternatives - it is metal and does a great job

First rate item and first rate service
I need a lens hood for my Kiron 28mm f2. 0 lens as it is a bit prone to flaring. This ticked all the boxes so I placed the order. The item is brilliant. Metal construction, good paint, a lens cap and a cleaning cloth all chucked in.I am very happy with the item. However the 5* also goes to Sedremm Customer Service who are brilliantUnfortunately when the item arrived it did not fit.The threads cut into it were 52mm not 55mm as required. (although it was printed 55mm so not the sellers fault)I contacted the seller (Sedremm)Let me just say that Sedremm customer service is fantastic, they, immediately checked and sorted their stock. They then shipped a perfect product and a stepping ring so that I can use the first item should I wish to.The communication was excellent and it is only when issues arise that you truly find out how good a company is.SEDREMM are brilliant! Will certainly look to them for my future photography needs! 😀

Very useful lens hood
I use this lens hood as a replacement for the supplied hood on an Olympus 40-150 f2.8 zoom. The Olympus hood is very innovative, but they have been known to disintegrate! This Fotover hood simply screws into the filter thread. It's well made and robust, and has a 77mm filter thread at the front end so that screw in filters can be attached directly to the hood itself. However, it is a bit short to be really effective for the Olympus 40-150, so I sent for another Fotover telephoto hood, but this time77mm. This can be screwed into the end of the 72mm hood so that the lens hoods stack. Together they make a longer, more effective lens hood which doesn't vignet; and the 77mm hood has an 82mm thread at the front end for 82mm screw in filters. Off the lens they sit inside each other for carrying. Altogether a couple of very successful purchases.

Good value
I got a pair of the petal hoods for a lens with no hood and as a smaller option for some telephoto lens'sTo make themselves universal they cunningly use the filter screw thread to attach. This obviously makes them slower to fit and remove, so arent good if your someone who takes the hood on and off frequently while shooting. Or wants to use a filter. But, it does mean they fit everything perfectly AND arnt likely to fall off when tapped like Nikon and the Terrible Fuji hoods do. Infact if i was blind testing id probably rate these better than the Fuji ones anyway! For the likes of panasonic or olympus youd have to weigh up the cost variances to the fitting convenience.Seller also bundles other small bits which does show some desire to please the customer.Good product.

Good quality, good fit
This is a well made and well fitting screw-on (46mm) metal lens hood. I bought it for use with my M.Zuiko 12mm (24mm efl) f1.8 wide-angle lens. No vignetting (but there would be if filters were to be attached), it does the job well. The lens hood came with lens cap to attach to the lens hood, providing protection. It should be noted that although a 62mm lens cap ought to have been provided, a 67mm lens cap was. I contacted Sedremm who then sent, very quickly, the correct 62mm lens cap.Very occasionally mistakes do occur which I accept and providing they are rectified quickly without any fuss or argument then I don't hold it against the company, in fact they go up in my estimation.

sturdy but short
I bought the telephoto hood. It is only 35mm or so long but actually adequate for my needs more for protection than cutting down internal light reflection. It has already protected the lens well on my Sony RX10 from brushing past vegetation and a hard knock. The modest size also means it fits in a fairly small case.Fitted onto a filter I get vignetting on the RX10 at 70mm, so I would need to take it off for landscapes with this camera. I bought the "telephoto" hood because I almost never go below 100mm.It screwed easily onto the Hoya filter I have fitted to the front of my camera. You do get a lens cap but I only use a lens caps if I remove the lens hood for air travel... if that ever happens again.
