My Review -- Part One
i am so excited to get this affordable scanner that I wanted to let others know what I discovered about it. I have wanted a hand held scanner for several years but could not justify the cost and then this refurbished scanner came along for less than $25. I ordered it immediately and received the scanner a couple hours ago. Batteries are included as is a protective sleeve... but (and this is important!), you need a Micro SD card to make the scanner functionable. Fortunately, I had one on hand that I purchased for another device. Whew! Otherwise, I would have had to either wait or go out in the heat and humidity to buy one at a higher price. If you decide to order this scanner and do not have a Micro SD card, order one when you order the scanner. For some unknown reason, I expected the scanner to be a "plug and play" device. It isn't. There is a slight learning curve. Very slight, though. The first few scans captured less than a inch of the scan. ??? Do I have a defective device? Is the "scan" light supposed to remain on throughout the scan? I went to YouTube and watched a demonstration. The scan light did remain on! It went out when I did my scans. Why? Perhaps I was too impatient or moved the "magic wand" too quickly. No matter now because on my fifth try, the light remained on (as in the video) and the scan was perfect! Wow!I was determined to find out why the "scan" light went off when I started the scan. It was recurring. Why? Here's what I suspect: I was bearing down on the scanner as though I was ironing a shirt! No need to put presure on the scanner. Just gently "roll" it down the page. That appears to be what was causing the problem.Day 2: I am still experiencing problems with the "scan" light going out and that requires a restart of the scan. Sometimes I need to restart the scan several times before the scan light remains on. I might need to return the scanner and get a replacement.Day 3: The scan light will not remain on until I have attemped several scans. A bother! Once I get it to remain on, it scans fine and I am very pleased. Meanwhile, I need to live with this, I suppose. I reduced my rating to four stars because of this. The package should have included tranquilizers! I gave the scanner another try and now the light seems to have settled down and I was able to do several scans in a row without a problem. I cannot determine what the problem is, but I'll keep trying and keep this review updated.OK. Things are improving now. I suspect that I needed to adjust to the scanner. It's performing quite well now. A few "false starts" but not frequently. I'm updating and restored the five stars. Change my face to a happy face! I have a real bargain here! Be patient if you purchase one of these scanners.Day 4: Scanner is functioning perfectly now! I suppose I needed to adjust to it. I will leave the review as it is in the event others have a similar experience.I am now very happy. I finally have a nice hand held scanner! If you purchase one of these. Be patient. It does take some getting used to!

I really love this scanner.
It's held up for a few years and i got it used. I didn't have space for a scanner and i didn't want to pay the cost for a all in one laser jet unit. I just have a simple monochrome laser jet printer and having this around is great for quickly scanning documents to send for business. I don't have the dock yet but i plan on getting it. I love the portable nature of this scanner also. I can take it with me anywhere i need it and it's easy to store out of the way safely in its protective bag which has also held up great.

Very handy scanner of good quality
The item is refurbished. No problems yet and worth the price. I scanned a picture in a frame. You need to take care about the scanner's scanning size limits. A little bigger than the screen and it's off the border. The picture was scanned beautifully but it looked like a photograph of it taken from a little above. Be careful scanning things in a frame and covered with a thick glass layer. Another scan of a document resulted in a very good quality file. I'm impressed. Increasing my star rating by one point.

I hate to say that after 3 pages of continued scanning ...
I buy this product as refurbished, I hate to say that after 3 pages of continued scanning the battery become low and shutting off the scanner, I did try to replace the battery with a new one but same thing happen, sometimes it better to buy a new not the refurbished one or better with a brand name.

Best investment I've made in years
My studies require me to work with texts with a very small font – printed in the 40's. Scanning / using and using a optical character recognition program / text into my word processor has increased my speed and retention of material by 300 % ! Wish I had this back in the 5th grade… I'd be Microsoft now. Best investment I've made in years.

Works fantastic once you get the rythm
Needed to upload papers for the Army. Works fantastic once you get the rythm. I order a refurbished one to shave off the price but still needed a micro sd and make sure you put it on pdf incase it changes...
