An enthralling and informative must read for anyone attempting to grasp the highly complicated issue of the current state of U.S
Tangled Titians is both an informative and enthralling read. This book would be an ideal read for anyone who is interested in the current state of US-China foreign relations. It offers enough background information for the uninformed on the topic, while diving deep into current issues and theories that would hold the interest of experts in the area. Each author makes separate arguments from different viewpoints, making each chapter unique. This keeps the book interesting even though each author's chapter is an examination of the same overall topic as the last. The communal effort put the book in a different realm compared with singular authored books.Progressing through the book, new arguments and opinions are brought up. This makes the reading experience an opinion changing and questioning journey. This examination of personal beliefs will keep the reader's mind engaged throughout the entire book. The publication date of Tangled Titans was August 9, 2012. US-China relations is a continually changing topic, so the importance of this book being published in the past year cannot be stressed enough. The book does not lack information. Tangled Titans is so dense that it might have to be read a second or third time to pick up on many of the specifics of U.S.-China relations. For a reader looking for humor or embellishment of the topic, this book will not offer that. The book lacks reader engagement in some areas, giving prolonged detail that could leave the reader detached. There is no humor and certain sections could be viewed as repetitive and dry. However, the book covers a vast field of topics and viewpoints from the perspectives of scholars in the field, making it a must read for anyone interested in the current state of U.S. China foreign relations and possible directions they could turn in the future.

Although dense, This book is worth the time.
This is a good book. Although I would not have known it existed had it not been for my graduate class, I would recommend this to a friend that is worried about China. It is truly an eye-opening experience.

has called this "the best book on US-China relations to appear in many years
Jon M. Huntsman Jr. (former US ambassador to China) has called this "the best book on US-China relations to appear in many years." I would agree except that William A. Callahan, China Dreams: 20 Visions of the Future," Stephen Roach, "Unbalanced: The Codependency of America and China," and Imad Moosa, "The US-China Trade Dispute: Facts, Figures and Myths," are equally valuable books.
