The walls and doors of my 1994 Dodge van are like a marimba drum. They actually resonate sound. With these mats, they sound like I'm banging on a phone book--a dead, quite sound. The difference is amazing. The peel and stick application is much less frustrating than adhesive backed plastic (like Contact paper) because the pads are heavy and don't tend to roll up on themselves when they catch a breeze. If you have no sticky-back experience you'll need to learn the technique...no quick moves. Finesse will come with practice. Start with an easy, flat area. Do the interior of a door after you've gained some skills. The pads are moldable to a degree but a few relief cuts will ease the fit, over a wheel well, for example. Cut with the backing on, otherwise the scissors will stick to the adhesive. Buy more than you think you'll need because you'll find places to use the leftovers.

3 things: 1 - buy more than you think you need. 2 - cover every inch that you can. 3 - you will love it! I covered nearly my entire truck cab, and it makes it nearly sound proof. I can still hear loud motorcycles pass me, and I still hear the roar of my diesel engine (I haven't covered the firewall yet). Plus, glass lets in a lot of road noise. But I covered every inch that I could, and I couldn't be happier.

I read all of the reviews, waited a while to write this one to see how it held up. I covered the interior and roof on my 69 Chevelle and this material is living up to everything I read about it. I put it in back in the summer and the car is going to the upholsterers in October. Application was simple and it has stayed stuck. Good quality sheeting, sound deadening and made in the USA. I have already bought more.

This stuff is easy to install and it does the trick. I installed it in my Jeep Wrangler and according to my decibel testing of before and after it seems to have lowered the sound 3-4 decibels. It took about 3 hours to remove the interior, install the Hushmat and reinstall the interior.

HushMat is a very nice product, but it's a little too thick for a car I am restoring. I'll use it to tone-down an old Evo VIII that has little, or no, sound deadening material.

Ive done my floor roof firewall in and out. Old mack truck, quiet like a new truck now. Much better temp control also.
