Ella Of All-Of-A-Kind Family

I hate to see the end of this series! This book is shorter than the others,as the children are seen growing up. Ella is given the opportunity to use her artistic talents while working. Much of the book is focused on her, as the title suggests. However,the rest of the family is there as well.I would have liked to see the book continue with a few added months,which is why I gave it 4 stars.

I read these as a child and recently bought them for my little girl, who enjoyed as much as me. But I’d never read Ella! I must’ve been grown up when it was published. What a treat!

I first read Sydney Taylor's book as a young girl in the 1960s. I couldn't get enough of the little Jewish girls living in New York City. Being a small town girl from Tennessee, it was a whole different world. Not only are these books well-written and full of enjoyable stories, I also learned a lot about history and Jewish customs. I now have the entire set of All of a Kind Family books, I suppose I'm trying to buy back my childhood. Sometimes it's nice to go back to the past.

Bought the entire series for my daughter after a friend recommended it. My daughter is an avid reader & enjoyed the series, though wasn't head over heels about it as I'd hoped. Still she thought it was a good read.

Love this whole series. Great glimpse of history and Jewish culture. Highlights a time when women were just getting more into the workplace and the right to vote, etc.

I have read all of the All-of-a-Kind Family books except this one. This one was not available at my local libraries. It is just as good of a book as the other ones, my only complaint is it seems VERY short. I was hoping that the last in the series would last a little longer.

I loved this series as a child, and am so excited to be reading it with my children now

Not as engaging as the original books of the series. Well bound with the original illustrations, but the cover is ugly
