Great Pencils!
You may have read previous reviews of school supplies I have written, most of us agree that China, Indian, Vietnamese, and Indonesian pencils are poorly made. I went to Target the other day and opened the boxes of pencils, some employee thought I was trying to steal the pencils. Good thing I opened the boxes, it didn't matter what brand I was looking at, all the brands were made in another country and there were bowed pencils in many brands, leads were not centered, poor paint jobs, It also looked like the pencils were not glued correctly. I looked at the package of Dixon Ticonderoga, opened it and every single pencil was bowed. Everybody claims that Dixon Ticonderoga is a really great pencil, well not true, I don't call bowed pencils good quality, because when you sharpen a bowed pencil in the sharpener, the lead snaps.Anyway, speaking of this particular brand of pencil you get 12 pencils in a sealed plastic bag. The pencils don't smell like a ceder pencil,so, I believe these pencils are made of Basswood as the description says. When you look at the pencil you can tell that it is made of high quality wood. I wrote with it for quite a while and it writes smoothly, all the pencils were straight. leads were centered where they should be. The paint job on the pencils were very good, they sharpened well. These pencils look identical to the picture. I do have one small complaint, the eraser is okay, but it leaves a slight ghost on the paper. To summarize what I said I will recapture in pros and cons of this brand of pencil.Pros:straight pencilsexcellent writingcentered leadsgreat paint jobgood eraserpeople at work or school will not steal your pencildoesn't have that pine smell like cedar pencilsmade of fresh wood, so, it sharpens wellmade of strong wood, does not bendMade in the U.S.A.bonded leadCons:NoneI am speaking as candid as possible about this product and I hope my review was helpful to potential buyers.

Dark and Bold
These pencils have a firmly hexagonal shape that makes them easy to hold. The eraser is soft, and so is the lead. While it could be nicer to have it hold its point longer, it makes a nice dark line. It is a great alternative to other brands. And, it is made in the USA!

High Quality American Made Pencils
First, this set of 12 pencils did not come in a Musgrave pencil box. The 12 pencils were loose in a plastic bag. I have a large collection of Japanese wooden pencils which are the epitome of pencil excellence so I compare other pencils to them. I checked the centering of the graphite within the pencil and one was a little off center. I used an electric Panasonic sharpener to start, and it had a hard time turning when I put this pencil in, maybe due to a harder wood than I’m used to. So I finished it with my hand crank Mitsubishi sharpener and it created a beautiful perfect point. This pencil writes very nicely, the eraser is decent but nothing to write home about. All in all, I give this pencil a four and a half stars.

Fantastic Value for the Money
Unquestionably one of the very best pencils I've used. Durable graphite that keeps a sharp point longer than most pencils. Only drawback is it slides around in one's grip a little when one sweats, but that's pretty much any pencil that has some coating on it. Overall great value for the cost, and made in the United States.

Not soft and smooth
This pencil is not very smooth like staedtler...

Good old American #2
A classic, made in the USA #2 pencil, with a standard pink pencil eraser attached to the end.The pencil has a hexagonal cross-section, but what is exceptional is the crispness of those edges--much crisper than I'm used to. So if you missed an almost sharp edge on your hexagonal pencil, this would be the pencil for you.I did not notice any "ghosting" from the eraser.I'm surprised by the planet-inspired name; I've used Venus pencils, Staedtler's Mars pencils... Ceres is the name of an asteroid.

Decent Pencil
Pencils are ok , but the quality feels different, maybe it just me , but they do not compare to the ones I had bought a year or so ago. I am not sure. They write fine , but something does not feel quite right.Still not a bad pencil. I guess.
