The fabric is not shear at all - dog can not see through it like they can with the gentle leader version of this type of product.Furthermore, I ordered exactly the size indicated - measured my dog and ordered appropriately - while it fits to stay on the snout is too tight and they skimped on cut of the fabric that covers the eyes shut that small movements on the dog's part makes the seam/edge move over the eyeball such as to cause injury to the eye.Don't waste your money, time, or possibility of injury to your dog.One start is a GENEROUS rating.

This is a great little product! At half the price of the "Calming Cap" it's absolutely worth a shot if your pooch has a bad habit of barking like crazy at anything moving outside the car. For my dog it has worked absolute wonders. At first he disliked it, but I give him a treat every time I put it on, and now he doesn't mind at all. He wore it for a two hour car ride this past weekend and fell asleep. If you're searching for how to stop your dog from barking in the car, look no further, just buy this thing.

I bought this item because I needed something to calm my dog down so I could perform his grooming rituals. He was always curios as to what I was doing to his nails, what I was brushing his hair with, or trying to run away from the hair clippers just because it made alot of noise.Once i started using this mask my dog, he was no longer able to see what I was doing and therefore allowed me to finish his grooming faster and better.The only problem I had with it is that it runs a little tight on their faces. You can adjust the mask, but then it would be easier for them to see through and even allow them to take the mask off themselves.in the end I give it 5 stars.

This is a good tool to calm your dog down. It is not a complete blackout (I can see pin hole light through the material), but it does calm my dog down so she's not barking at the mailwoman and when people walk in front of the house. She can still navigate around the house and drink from her waterbowl. It doesn't prevent her from being able to bark if needed and she can still pant and stay cool. Seems fairly well built as it doesn't tear or damage when she occasionally scratches her face with it on. She seems comfortable with it and doesn't run away when I come to put it on her. Product works as advertised for my dog. She's a 22lb maltipoo and I have the strap almost all the way in, so not for tiny dogs, but with plenty of slack for medium to medium-large dogs.

my dog is aggressive / scared at the vet , so they giver calming medication and unfortunately doesnt do much but apparently if you have a eye cover shes less alert.So very much needed and very useful and perfect for those who have some fear of something

My dog does not like wearing this. She gets too scared that she can't see. The point of the calming cap is to reduce visibility, not eliminate it. Also, the first order I got was a Chinese knock off that wasn't even built properly. The replacement was what is shown in this picture. So just beware what you get.

Got this for my dog, who doesn't get along with my shephard. When I crate bring the shephard in to crate her for the night, the other one goes bonkers and barks her head off. When we put the eye mask on her, she stays quiet and calm as we bring in the other dog. It really works. Out of sight, out of mind.

I have a timid dog who doesn't like to be touched during vet visits. So it's mainly used for that. Works wonders as we weren't able to check his blood pressure before but with this on he will reluctantly allow it. The fit was a bit tight on the mouth area but my dog was able to open his mouth to pant etc. So it's ok for short visits
