Emily Noyes Vanderpoel.
This is a relatively spectacular book about color-work. Her analytical approach was quite brilliant and basically it has not been surpassed in, now, more than a hundred. Even so, I have other research interests in the work of Emily Noyes Vandepoel. That said, this beautiful book, a beautiful pile of color "tiles" will stay with me as a particular piece of treasure. We should all run and acquire "Emily Noyes Vanderpoel" bumper stickers. We could vote for her or sing for her or visit her burial site. She deserves to be remembered for her very thoughtful work and understanding of many things.

Color Theory Love
Color and color theory is a pet project of mine. I have many, many books on the subject. I added this one to my collection and I was not disappointed. The color plates and wonderful, crisp, and clear, and I really enjoy reading the texts. So glad this was made and glad to see a woman in this area getting more acknowledgement.

No idea why they made this without actually using a good printer
Print on demand companies are a dime a dozen, and I thought the Kickstarter version these guys set out to make of would’ve resulted with something better quality. This book accomplishes one thing, it gets Color Problems into a new generation‘s hands. What it doesn’t do is give a decent copy of it, especially for the price.I expected that this would’ve been published with better color accuracy, at least along the quality of comparable art books. However it has been mass produced and I hate to say it but it just feels like another print on demand version of a classic book. It also should have been hardcover for the price they’re charging.

Important historical art book on colour.
This is interesting to know, as it is not usually on colour theory curricula. Her ideas were new in America at the time, but were being developed separately in Europe, with several artists developing parts of the knowledge we now use. She got the colour wheel right except for 2 omissions (see Runge, Goethe and Cheveux in European art history of the colour wheel discoveries). Her use of fabrics, and the colour mixes in them is unique and interesting.
