NEW 5th edition ACLS 2013 Review
Buy THIS. Buy it NOW.I have used Doc Grauer's Pocket textbooks for literally decades and ACLS 2013 is one of the best ones yet! (I only say "one of the best" because he has several other revisions coming out that I expect to be just as good, if not better!)Clear. Concise. Coherent. Clinically Relevant.Beyond the Basics of a standard ACLS course, yet Rubber Meets the Road easily applicable, regardless of your practice environment... in your ambulance, your aircraft, or at the bedside. There are precise recommendations for the algorithms in the current ACLS Provider Manual, as well as in depth "Beyond-the-Textbook" section after each algorithm. The NEW spiral binding makes it VERY easy to find what you are looking for, yet is still small and conveniently carried in any clinical environment...Also, ACLS 2013 is relevant for ALL practice environments and skill levels...- from students to established clinicians....EMS/Paramedicine, Repiratory Therapists, Nurses/PAs/MDs...Want to know more before you purchase the product? The Table of Contents and 4 selected chapters are available for free download from the author's web site.Full disclosure. I am a Reviewer/ Consultant on this text... However, I receive no renumeration from sales. There is no financial conflict of interest.)

Excellent Book!
PLEASE NOTE: THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE NEW 5th EDITION OF DR. KEN GRAUER'S ACLS 2013 POCKET BRAIN.I read the 4th edition and found it very helpful, but I have to say that the 2013 edition is so much better than the 2011 version. The 2013 edition has been completely revised and updated. It incorporates guidelines from the current ACLS Provider Manual. In addition, it provides commentary on the major algorithms and contains pearls and important clinical insights. It includes many rhythm strips and clinical case examples. Dr. Grauer's ACLS 2013 PB makes it easy for the reader to understand ACLS concepts instead of trying to memorize them. The book is thorough yet concise and very user-friendly. The new spiral binding is a great upgrade. I highly recommend ACLS 2013 Pocket Brain 5th Edition for anyone interested in ACLS.

You have to buy this one!
I'm a medical student and I'm finishing med school soon. This book is just great for me, because the descriptions and explanations are easy to understand. The book is full of knowledge. I will have to read it couple of times to "absorb it".I love that the key concepts in each chapter are repeated several times and I feel that it really helps me to remember the most important things.Dr. Grauer is an excellent teacher and he makes me feel that I'll be able to handle most of the clinical situations (I'll be starting in cardiology department). Also the price is really low for medical book.So my thanks to Dr. Grauer and BUY this book, you won't regret it.

NOT AN ACLS REVIEW BOOK.
I would give this 4 or 5 stars if it was sold as an ECG book. He gives a very detailed review of ECG interpretation, far more than you would ever need for ACLS, with some pages added on treatment of various arhythmias. If you are studying for ACLS, your time would be much better spent studying ACLS materials and basic ECG interpretation from the internet rather than advanced ECG assessment as offered by this book. ECG interpretation and management of arhythmias is just one part of what you need to know for ACLS. Maybe naming this book "Advanced ECG interpretation" instead of "ACLS" would hurt sales but would be a much better title for it.

Excellent, User-friendly Text
Dr. Ken Grauer's latest Pocket Brain is his best ever! The ACLS 2013 PB will help you UNDERSTAND ACLS guidelines, not just memorize them. It is very user-friendly, and Dr. Grauer's teaching style is easy to digest. He follows the ACLS Provider Manual, and includes many "pearls" that are "beyond the textbook". Whether you are a beginner or an experienced ACLS instructor, you will learn something new from this book. And whether you are taking ACLS or teaching it, you will gain confidence from the information presented.

Excellent Little Pocket-sized Source!!!
A very good source of information in one concise little volume that can accompany you in scrubs or lab coat pocket, while you perform your day to day routines around the hospital. Always there to consult in an emergency.

Confusing
Just did ACLS and most of the data in this small but expensive "book" was not needed. It was confusing, disorganized and had things like " use your gut feeling". I ignored it and used the ACLS book, passed with no problems

Ken Grauer just makes sense
I seem to get so much more out of Ken Grauer's books than with the actual ACLS provider manual. Seems to simplify the steps in a more user friendly way, making it come to healthcare providers when the information is needed!

ottimo
Grande risorsa per chi lavora in medicina d'urgenza, in quanto le spiegazioni sono chiare e finalizzate alla pratica. Sarebbe utile aggiungere una sezione finale con tracciati per esercitarsi

nice review of ACLS
relatively quick read. Used to review for ACLS recertification. Thorough enough to cover all of the bases, yet brief enough to not be boring.
