MadCatz 4588 Light Blaster - Xbox

Most of the 1 star reviews are from people who didn’t realize that the gun doesn’t work with modern LCD TVs. It’s your own fault for not doing your research. Why leave a bad review?If you do own an old CRT TV still, get ready for some fun. This is easily the best lightun available for the original xbox. All the buttons have a nice tactile feel. The fire selector and auto reload buttons all light up perfectly. And the trigger pull/reset is very short and satisfying. And most importantly, the gun is dead accurate. You can even use the sights on the top of the gun pretty effectively. I didn’t get any problems of the crosshair appearing 6 inches to the left or right like some reviewers. Mine worked flawlessly every single time.The only problem is the gun didn’t come with the xbox’s breakaway cable. You can easily find them on Ebay for like $3. So it’s not that big of a deal. It’s just annoying that you’d have to wait for one to ship to your door if you don’t already have another controller that you can borrow the cable from. Most people will, so it’s not a big deal. But like I said, it’s just inconvenient.Other than that, I’m very happy with this gun. Everything works well. It’s got a good weight to it. And it’s accurate. Not much more you can ask for.

Works as expected

But the only great game to use this gun is HOD2&3 although I wish it was wireless!Auto reload should be turned OFF when playing HOD but auto fire should be turned on because these are some pain in the butt zombies who take forever to kill off esp when they move super fast.

It's not supported on my HD DLP TV. That little piece of info would have been nice to know. But I have another Rear Projection CRT big screen and it worked perfectly on that. More titles would be nice too.You gotta love playing with a light gun!

Not many games you can use this on but works great for the ones that you can.

I wasn't told that it would not work on newer TVs. I can't even use it. Wasted my money on buying this. I think the seller should have been honest with me.

I got this gun for The House Of The Dead 3 for Xbox and it makes the game more fun for me to play!!!!

I bought this gun specifically for the reason to play NES and other roms (i own the original games) on my software modded xbox. And if you have the right software, roms, and emulator it works with NES games. I haven't tested other emulators yet and MAME but i believe those will work too. Highly fun but at least with the NES for xbox emulator it is hard to calibrate your gun for these games though possible. Will not work with tvs or projectors that aren't tube CRT tvs. Gun is pretty sweet and has lots of buttons. I haven't tested it yet with an actual xbox game (only like 3 or 4 games it does work with for xbox) but i can imagine it works great for them too.

Poor ended up throwing it away

As the title states bargain bin item.....total crap!!!My son nearly had a fit and a bad turn when he seen this "gun"So please if you want your child to hate you buy it!!LOL.....No avoid unless your an adult and the look doesn't bother you (Hulk green, 60's Sci-Fi looking, off the plant Zarg type of a gun).It is really cheap and nasty looking TBH.....Straight in the bin,wouldn't even embarass myself by putting into a charity shop!Mik

thought I could use this on xbox360. Tried to buy USB connection to allow me. Have not found one that allows me to so as a result the gun is collecting dust. :(
