Brooks Womens Ariel '16 Overpronation Stability Running Shoe

I have been looking forever for shoes that are comfortable for me. I have Plantar Fasciitis and no shoes are comfortable for walking or a long day of being on my feet. So far, these have been the most comfortable ones I have found. I am very happy with them. They are true to size and I ordered a wide and they are perfect!

I wore these for the first time yesterday and definitely felt a difference. My foot has become damaged due to some frayed and detached tendons and ligaments, collapsed arch and severe overpronation. My gait changed to overcompensate for the pain and I was beginning to feel pain in the opposite knee as well as the affected foot and ankle. I was able to walk quite a bit without any pain and my foot felt well supported. I still had to consciously walk with my foot held in proper position but I feel that as time goes on my normal gait will return and I will be able to walk comfortably for longer periods of time.

I usually wear an 8 wide in Brooks ariels. After reading the reviews, I went up a half size. They are made much smaller and narrower than previously. These fit fine with mid weight socks. They are not the quality shoes, as before, that healed my plantar faciites, but one of the better arch supporters and motion controllers.

I returned these shoes as soon as I put them on. As a previous poster wrote they are too small in the toe box. I have been wearing Brooks Adrenaline shoes road running shoes for ages. I do some trail running so I thought I would give these a try. Once I put the shoes on before standing up, my toes felt cramped and I could see exactly wear the tip of my big toe was. Which sparked a memory about another review I read which stated the runner had holes just above her big toes on both feet. I like the roomy feel of my Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 much better than these.

I work out daily and have ankles that severely overpronate. These shoes are good for that but I can't get over how uncomfortable they are. The heel is not shaped properly, so your foot slides too much. There is a lot of heel padding which tends to bunch up at the bottom, exacerbating the problem. When you try to tie them tighter so your heel doesn't slide, the top of the shoe hurts your feet. I've never had a shoe tongue be such a problem before, but I can't get them comfortable. It doesn't help that the tongue slides off to the side, no matter how many times you fix it. I've bought other Brooks before and haven't had that problem. Very disappointed with this shoe. It will be relegated to yard work I once I find a wearable shoe.

I bought these because my podiatrist wears them. I was really happy with the previous year's Brooks Ghost. These are a bit higher on the ankle, so they are more stabilizing (so says the podiatrist). I find that I can't wear ankle socks because the shoe sucks them down and under. It's annoying. I can only wear crew socks with these.

Straight out of the box these were like walking on clouds!! Extremely comfortable for my feet. Plus you can't beat purple! They are beautiful and functional... I will be investing in another pair.

I have purchased these Brooks ariel for many many years knowing that I have to wear stability control shoes or I can not even walk. I bought these in April and they already are coming apart and have a large hole in the top. Brooks did not do a good job on this version!!!.

Thank heavens for Brooks Ariel. For severe pronators like me, this shoe is really the only one on the market ( and has been for years) that makes the difference between running and not being able to run any more. The weight is a small price to pay. Please never discontinue it!!

My ankles and knee dont hurt, will get back fit after the long road to recovery after knee surgery. These are brilliant, would not wear any other trainer now 10/10

I cannot believe the difference a pair of Brooks trainers has made, I used to suffer with shin pain in practically every other brand: Asics, Nike, Adidas etc. I will never run in anything else now.

Got these shoes for walking, the stability is noticeable and so far they have been very comfortable. Nice colour too. Would recommend

I love these shoes, I'm on my third pair.However, they always come up small so I go for half a size bigger than usual.
