Worked great
They were about a half inch longer than the original ones. Bade it difficult to replace them. If you have two people take them both off and no problem then. One person taking one side off at a time problem but not terrible. They work great and look to be a quality product.

Awkward use of small clips/pins threaded thru the rounded ball joint, to lock struts to posts.
Product was sent minus one of the attachment posts that connect the strut to the frame of the vehicle. Contacted via phone but had to leave a message as all their support was busy. Left email message with issue. Received a quick response back from email requesting a picture of what is missing. Also received a call back quickly, asking for the part that was missing. They were shipping a part out that day.The product itself seems like a quality strut. Installation for the Toyota Highlander 2011, was quirky. To connect the struts, there is this weird wire clip that you push off and remove, then re-attach once you connect the strut to the post. The issue is trying to put this very thin wire back through the rounded part of the connected strut when it is tight against the metal of the hatch. Had to remove the hatch bracket, and attach the strut and wire pin/clip to this hatch bracket, then attach the strut to the post. Just an odd design. Seems like a very weak piece of wire and hard to line up the vertical piece to thread thru the ball of the strut. See picture...Hatch opens much smoother, and closes better. Just wary of the thin wire pin/clip lasting. Struts won't stay in if that very thin wire breaks

Improvement but not perfect
We bought this for my 2011 Highlander after my trunk would no longer electronically open and close. My husband switched these out in five minutes and while it opens beautifully with the push of a button again it will not close electronically . Disappointing, but after having to open and close the trunk by hand for two weeks and hold it open by hand (you realize quickly how heavy that door really is) this is a major improvement. My husband has done several repairs in different cars of ours over the years no problem so maybe we just got a defective one. Honestly I’m happy enough that I don’t have to lift and hold the heavy trunk door anymore that pulling the strap to close it isn’t that big a deal.

Fit is a little off OEM, but manageable
Product arrived in a timely fashion. Just installed the struts and they seem to work great. If they fail within the next few months, I’ll update review. Took me about 20 minutes to install with hand socket wrench unscrewing and screwing screws. As another reviewer noted, these replacements are about a 1/4” longer than the OEM. Which isn’t a big problem, it only means you have to take off both old struts before installing these, as opposed to one at a time. For safety, be sure to have a ladder under the hatch lid when you take both old OEM struts off as the hatch is very heavy and will fall without something supporting it. It would also help to have a friend lift the hatch door up when installing the new struts.

Need to support rear hatch when changing assembly’s
Had to install brackets and strut as assembly. Tried to install brackets first then strut but could not get retaining clips installed. I used a Bourn to hold door in open position so I could get assemblies bolted in place. Product functions without any problems.

Good enough
Certainly far less expensive than taking it to a repair shop or a dealer to fix. The struts themselves are just slightly longer than the original parts and that made them a little challenging to install because I was forced to push the liftgate to its maximum potential opening to allow the bolt holes to line up. In addition, the compression in the gas cylinders is such that it opens the litigate with considerably more force the original. Bottom line: these are doing the job satisfactorily and are plenty good for a budget-conscious DIYer.
