Quality

I bought the 550W when it was on sale. It was a pleasant surprise to see what I got for the money. This power supply is solid. The cables are a good length, the fan is quiet (and has 2 speeds for extra cooling when needed). It's very heavy. (i'm not sure if that's good or not, but I've noticed cheap power supplies being light)It was nice to see on front of the box that it comes with a 5 year warranty and that they pay for two way shipping! There's a lot of warranties out now that make *you* pay for the shipping to them.Overall, I am very satisfied with the Hale82 N. Get one when they are on sale and you can't go wrong.

Great quality

The 5V cable is way too short for my NZXT Phantom 410 case, the sleeving is very okIf you have the money, go for the modular one, I would be happier with that one.

Nice as long as you don't care about noise or cable management

This appears to be a well made power supply and if you read the in depth reviews on it, electrically speaking it tests out really well. It also claims to have intelligent fan control with two modes: performance and silent. Unfortunately mine only seemed to run in Performance mode. It was louder than all of my case fans plus the CPU fan (even if I turned them on full speed). I didn't have anything overclocked and the temp in my case was cool so there was no reason for the fan on this power supply to be running full tilt. I wouldn't doubt it was defective but I didn't feel like exchanging it only to find out that a new one did the same. Also, don't buy this if you're planning on doing any really nice cable management in your case. You definitely want a modular PSU for that. The cables on this thing are really nicely sheathed and are also very long. I also would be leary of NZXT's support. I opened a case about the noise and they never contacted me back. By the time I was able to chat with somebody online to complain about the fact that they had never contacted me, I was fed up enough to return it to Amazon. Amazon of course was awesome as they always are with returns. FYI - I replaced this with a Corsair Professional Series HX 750 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Gold (HX750), which I am 100% satisfied with.

I recommend

So far I have been using NZXT power supplies in the PC's I build, and no complaints. They are reliable, good quality, good enough price. None have failed me yet. They rival the best of them :)

550W Power supply

It installed with no problems and the power supply cords were long enough to reach all the components in the computer.

Good power supply, but much better alternatives for the price

I swapped out a Corsair Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 750 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Bronze (TX750M) for this one for testing purposes. I'll be comparing them to each other, as they're in the same price range ($10 difference or so).Pros: (the Corsair meets or exceeds all of these, as well)- High quality build, with good parts throughout. I popped the cover and it's well made inside. This isn't a flimsy or cheap PSU. It will give you good, high quality power without concern.- Cable length was plenty. I didn't worry about reaching the top parts of my case.Cons: (relative to the Corsair, and at this price point)- It's not modular. Hence, I'm stuck with a bunch of extra cables that I don't presently need. Spring for the extra. You'll be glad you did.- The cables are the standard big fat cables with wrapping. The Corsair uses sleeker flat cables that run a lot easier throughout the case, and fit through small areas better.- The splits for some of the connectors weren't great. I had to really work the eatx 12v line to get both halves installed on my motherboard.Overall, it's a quality PSU, but at the price, I don't understand the compromises NZXT has made. They should have invested more in the top quality features competitors offer as well.

Solid power supply, possibly outshined by one higher model

The media could not be loaded. I know I suck at video reviews but you can hear how quiet the power supply is. :)Big update: after writing this review I read a few more reviews online who said that there was ripple issues on the 3.3 volt if the temperatures went over the 95F the power supply was rated for. A number of reviews around June 2012 said this. I called NZXT and they said a revision was done in August 2012 and that the power supply shipped to me in late October was definately in the new lot. They said the ripple issue was fixed. They said their warranty would cover component damage if there was any harm done by the un-revised supplies. I guess I would have liked to hear that there was a full recall. But, wow, talk about a company maning up--admiting the issue and taking responsibility for it! First of all, it was super quick to talk to someone. Second, they were knowledgable and did not follow a script. Third, they knew and admited that there was an issue. Fourth, they said they would go above and beyond the warranty if there was an issue. I'm definately suggesting NZXT to my friends! If you've ever made with a support call for computer components, you'd know how different this call was than your average computer company support call!!!I really like this power supply. There are plenty of cables and plenty of power. The only problem I have is that the Hale82 750w (without the N in the model) is better: partially modular and all Japanese caps. The non-N version also has a DC-DC design where this one has schottky rectifiers. I have no idea what I just said but I understand that DC-DC is better. The problem with buying this "N" model is that the better one is just around ten schmucks more. So unless the price changes, I would suggest NZXT Hale82 80 Plus Bronze ATX 750 Watt Modular Power Supply I think the internal things like the DC-DC wouldn't make a difference to me because either will outlive my build, but I would like the modular cables in the non-N model. The plugs you get with this:one motherboard cord with a 20+4 power atx plug (fits 20 or 24)one motherboard cord with a 4+4 plug (fits two 4's or one 8)two pci-e cords each having one 6+2 plug and one 8 plug (each cord can fit a 6 and an 8 or two 8's)three accessory cords each having 4 sata plugsone accessory cord with 3 molex 4 pin plugsone accessory cord with 2 molex 4 pin plugs and a floppy plugpros:-good power and lots of it-plenty of cables-dual video card support-they pay both way shipping in a warranty issue-5 year warrantycons:-almost too many cables without being modular-not all Japanese caps (just like your cereal isn't all whole grain when it says whole grains on the box--I hate marketing half truths)-I don't understand why they didn't make two 6+2 plugs instead of one 6+2 and one 8. If you happen to have two video cards that each take two 6 plug cords, I'm not sure if you can find a 8 pin to 6+2 adapter. I'm putting a 6870 which requires two 6 pin plugs. I don't think I'll ever cross fire, but still...So overall, it's a solid power supply with a lot of ends. It has a great warranty. While I can suggest this power supply, I would check on the other one suggested above.
