Had to rekey my house, four locks total. The kit was really easy to use. The only issue I had was that I had to file down the assembled pins to make them flush with the barrel. Not a big deal but it just made the key easier to turn in the lock. We had extra keys cut and they worked really well too.I screwed up the first lock and let a spring pop out. The instructions were good on how to rectify the error so I'd recommend this to anyone who can safely operate a screwdriver. Way cheaper than hiring a locksmith

Followed the directions and was able to place the new pins exactly as specified in the directions. Unfortunately the pins were too tall for my lock and the cylinder could not be reinserted. Put the old pins back in and the cylinder went in fine. Thinking I did something wrong I tried again and again couldn't reassemble the lock with the new pins.After reading the comments here about all the keys being the same I tried another key I had sitting around. Unfortunately this kit is specifically made to be used only with the provided keys and pin sizes are only included for those keys. Have another key you'd like to use? It won't work unless it uses exactly the same pin sizes.After wasting a couple of hours with this kit I finally gave up. Back to Amazon it goes.

This kit is great and easy to use. I rekeyed two locks in about 30 minutes.

Package claims there is no need for locksmith experience, but there were many issues requiring tools and knowledge beyond those provided. The pins were too long causing the lock to not operate with the keys provided. The lock had to be picked and the pins filed down to work with the keys provided. The color coding easily washed off if you used lock lubricant such as Hudini. It was hard to distinguish the silver from the gold pins. You need snap ring plyers to work on Weiser door knob locks which were not provided in this kit. We only successfully rekeyed two of the six locks before us in the four hours. Planning to buy new Schlage locks.

This kit was purchased to rekey Weiser-brand lock sets. What was received was just a Kwikset version without the pickle fork.So…Kwikset and Weiser have basically the same keyway, with Kwikset being a touch thinner. Save the headache, get a extra tool, and have the ability to rekey BOTH Weiser and Kwikset by buying the KW1 set.

Worked great, just be careful with the pins, I almost lost a few when I was replacing them.

Like others have commented, the pins were too long for the key cuts. You have a choice, file down 30 pins or the three keys they provide. Don’t use a flat file, use a small round one take a few strokes at a time and test fit in the core each time. There was also a part of the tool missing that went with the snap ring remover. I made one from a piece of scrap kydex. If you have a real snap ring plier use that instead. The tweezers supplied are garbage, don’t waste you time with them. Use some small needle nose pliers instead. The follower is the only decent working tool. Despite all this this kit is still an easy and inexpensive way to rekey 6 locks, you just need a little bit more skill and time then the package notes.

Good instructions and easy to use product. Worked very well. I went from 6 different house keys down to one now. Just need to pay attention that the pins are at the top of the holes and not above them. Had one lock cylinder where the pins were a little to long but a small file took care of the problem. Took about 3 hours to do all six locks in my home.

The previous kits were easy to install. This one was not working, I had to file the pins. Messy and uneasy job. Filed pins lose their finisha and are more likely to jam, which they did a lot. Finally got it fitted, but considering a lock replacement since I don't know if the lock will last.

Managed to rekey two locks. Not difficult but had to use a file which was not listed on instructions but saw on YouTube. Saved lots compared to hiring locksmith. Bought another two kits for future.Turned out all three kits had the same key so returned two.

I bought this to rekey a Weiser 'safe lock' budget dead bolt. I found that none of the supplied pins were short enough to work in a couple of positions. Fortunately I was able to fill those places using pins from the lock as supplied. in fact I only used one of the pins from this kit. So basically I paid #20 for one pin, which isn't a great value proposition.
