I've had these for about 2 months or so. I've used them on about 5 video shoot so far and they are pretty reliable. The only thing I noticed that I didn't really like too much is that it limits the brightness of your light lot. The color gels are nice and seem to be of good quality I haven't had any of them come apart at all. The colors are vibrant and bright as well.

These barn doors are a bit heavy for their size. I wish they were lighter weight. The barn doors work well. But I find them to be a bit too loose straight out of the box. I wonder if they will loosen up even more in time with use. The back of them fit a little bit too loose when attached to a Bowns mount reflector. There is an arm spring mechanism that 'locks' the barn doors onto the reflector. I find that it just barely does the job. The curvature of that arm does not match the curvature of the reflector exactly, so it only touches a little bit. I did point the light straight down and at 45 degree angle (which will be the most common angle of the light in use), and the barn doors stay in place. It just feels it could have been made with a bit tighter fit. The barndoors do rotate once on the Bowens reflector.The gels and frames are stuck together. If you want to use your own gels on these frames, you have to tear apart the existing gel, then cut your gel to size and tape it to the frame. Not the most user friendly design. It would have been nice to have a frame that opens and closes and sandwiches the gels in place. The frames have 2 notches at the bottom front of the barn doors where you rest them, then they stick onto the barn doors with 2 magnets at the top. The magnets are quite strong. Its a small struggle to take the gels off. Need some strong nails or a small tool. These are theatrical color gels. They are not color correction gels. I think it would have been nice for 2 of the gels to be color corrections gels such as 1 CTO and 1 CTB.The inner grid works ok. Seems to be built fine. The grid is surrounded by a strip of plastic that keeps the round shape and the grid in place. I don't have much experience working with these kinds of grids. With the light I was using the bern doors and d=grid with, I could see the shape / texture of the grid shadow on the wall where the light was pointed. So not exactly what I am looking for out of a grid. but could be ok if you are looking for a breakup pattern, i guess.

Works as advertised. Nice to have. But the thing is that there isn’t a right seal onto my reflector so a bite of light spills out. Other than that they do the job.

Adds too much weight to the light. Also the honeycomb is not attached to the barn door and can pop. Gels are pre-glued to the support and cannot be changed for another gel.

doesn't fit "standard bowens mount reflectors." It's really loose and will fall off if the light gets disturbed. However, you can sort of make it work? The main thing to me is that the barn doors cut the light a lot less intuitively than I thought, but I imagine this is because I'm not used to using barndoors. It doesn't cut the light, it vaguely fades it in a weird way.Edit: i just watched some youtube videos and that falloff is not supposed to happen. I'm so confused now. In videos, you see hard shadow lines, but that's not what I see...
