Chrome Concentric Thermostatic Brass Shower Valve Modern & Victorian (Victorian)

Replacement for a 25 year old leaking valve. The fixing holes did not line up with the old fitting but not a problem because the original plumber had placed a substantial piece of wood behing the tiles so that new holes were not a problem. Fitting took about an hour. The water pressure is about 0.7 bar so there is a good flow in the shower.Remeber when fitting to cover the drain hole or the grub screws may be lost forever. Also put soft material in the shower tray so that in case of an accident the shower tray does not need to be replaced. In fact fitting was very easy except for putting the grub screws back in. They are very small and fiddly. The hex key fouls the wall when the valve is in place on the back plate because the back plate is quite thin.

I give 3 stars as the water flowing didnt actually mix so either you get burnt or frozen. Left it too late for the warrenty but thats my procrastination problem.

Received the unit today and it looks well finished. The installation instructions describe 150mm centres between hot and cold inlet pipes yet the advert describes 150 to 160mm. Is the distance 150 to 160 or will it only fit 150mm as stated in the installation instructions? If 150mm only then the unit is misadvertised and I need to send it back as the centres on mine are 154mm.

Failed after a year. Valve inside stuck. Now need a replacement but not sure where to get one !

The description in the advert did not match the product delivered. The advert clearly states the dimensions as a 72mm barrel and the item received was a 78mm barrel. So I had to return it. Otherwise it would probably have been an excellent purchase.

Really like the look, easy to fit BUT the thermostatic valve inside is faulty already.It lasted 4 months.
