Real Life: Preparing for the 7 Worst Days of Your Life

well written
I really enjoyed this book. It seemed as though he was writing specifically to me. It touched me many times. The best part of Dr. Phil is when he speaks or writes about a subject there is much research to back up what he says. He writes on a level anyone can understand because he makes it very personal and he always breaks down his thoughts and reasoning. He great at using examples to drive his points home. I would recommend this book to anyone that has gone through or is going through some hard things in life. If you are in a good place in your life this can help to bring awareness and preparation for things in life that are inevitable.

The book and the cds are super. If u r a dr Phil fan then this will be the typical A++++ outlook that dr phil exhibits consistently with techniques and strategies offered. the empathetic approach and real life attitude he always displays in his shows come they loud and clear as on his shows. I found it to be incredibly helpful with the ordeal I am currently going thru. He is truly terrific.

Wonderful Book! Common Sense in a Crazy World!
Dr. Phil is mostly "Common Sense" to us, but in a world where this is no longer "Common"! My husband Bill and I never miss his show and I read his books to my husband as he is vision impaired. We enjoyed Real Life very much and are half way through Live Code which we are also enjoying! Dr. Phil brings us back to the world we knew before it went CRAZY!!! It's nice to still be able to go somewhere that still makes sense! Self Matters is next and we will be getting more of his books. Thank you so much! Sherry and Bill Bailey

Dr.Phil Always Tells It Like It Is
Liked the book. As usual, Dr. Phil is always "spot on" in his advice. I guess the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I was hoping for "more". . . I mean at least 85% of this stuff is good common sense, or it was to me. I do recommend it if you have trouble with a lot of common sense, problem solving issues.FL DesignerBoynton Beach, FL

Good read
Just finished the first go round on this book. I have every intention of reading it a couple more times. This has some good tips, some obvious "duh" moments and some ideas that I hate to admit are true. Well put together and thoughtful. Enjoy the read, learn from the examples and think about incorporating some or all of these ideas into your world.

Dr. Phil is awesome. And I love his work.
I am a great fan of dr. Phil. And the dr. Phil show. I'm not sure about his work comma as far as literature goes, but I am quite confident that he will deliver. He is quite good when it comes to helping people and I'm very convinced that this book will guide me in the right direction. Everyone needs Direction in their life and hopefully this one will be mine.

Requires thought..
This is not a book one would read before going to sleep as it requires thought and attention to digest the information. I felt it was similar to being in therapy--informative and thought provoking. For anyone wanting to figure out "why" we "do what we do" (complete with exercises) and how to make changes it is helpful.

Learn to listen to your GUT
Reinstated things I already knew but needed to be reminded. I am 84 and remarried at age 82. Luckily got out of the marriage in 11 months. I fell for the a line a mile long. "My kids (they were from 50 to 60 years old) just love you." Yes they did because Daddy had dementia and was on his way to Alshiemers. I jumped out just in time after reading your book. Thank You, Bonnie G

Watch tv instead!
Well, I love Dr Phil... But this book is NOT the same as the programmes & while I couldn't finish it- what I did read was hammering home a rather smug message many many many times. Not very enlightening or fun to read.

Same Old Reliable Dr. Phil
I liked this book because, you can just dip in and out of it when you like, it's split up into different sections depending on your problem, the language is very American, but all the same the advice is spot on.

Classic Dr Phil - a great addition to his books
This book is very different to any other Dr Phil books that I've read (and I've read all of them) in that he considers specific events that you may or will come across. So it's not another "course" as such, which I was quite surprised when I first looked at it. The section on grief and grieving is particularly moving and helpful; it certainly resonates with a lot of my experiences of grief and would be helpful to read in preparation for what losing someone close could be like - without resorting to the classic 'stages of grief' model. So, it's something that you can refer to in anticipation of major events, rather than sit and work through as his other books have been structured (e.g. Life Strategies, Relationship Rescue, Family First etc). It's good to read some of his own experiences in amongst the suggestions and advice. Thanks Dr Phil!

One star is for the condition of the book. Five stars for the content.
It's a classic work by Dr Phil I desperately wanted to read. But the seller Amazing Buy kept sending me book with a dirty cover. It happened twice. One star is for the condition of the book. Five stars for the content.
